Nvidia Shield TV - Hardware acceleration issues with VC1 in MKV

Hi

I got a Nvidia Shield Pro (2015) with all the latest updates on that part and Kodi v18 Leia RC1 installed (but the same issues applies to all versions of Kodi and SPMC i have tried anyway). I try to figure out if this is something specific to only hardware acceleration on my box or if this is known issue, maybe some dev or other users have some insight to this.

I have my The Matrix movies ripped from Blueray to MKV, its encoded with VC1, so whenever i have hardware acceleration enabled it will just play the sound or stop after about 9 seconds or so.
I have turned off hardware acceleration options off (mediacodec surface and mediacodec) and everything works as how i want it too, but if i turn it on then it fails, either play without picture or it stops after few seconds.

It seems that this only affects MKV/VC1 files, other files is not any issue as i have discovered yet.

Is there any issue regarding NOT using hardware acceleration?

Movies doesn't get inside library

I tested nearby everything and i really don't understand why some movies doesn't get recognized and added to my library:

My movies directory structure is always the same for all the movies:
MAIN DIRECTORY
|-MOVIE TITLE (YEAR)
   |-MOVIE TITLE (YEAR).FILE EXTENSION

I have some little problem with just 3 movies, i tried every kind of rename, searched on moviedb and imdb for year, name in all the languages etc...
nothing, searching by media library it says me always: no result found

Any idea?
Tried to move directory and files to another place, rename.

Subtitle locations 16:9 / 21:9

I'm running Kodi 17.6 on a Nvidia Shield connected to a projector with a 21:9 screen.

If i'm viewing a 21:9 movie I zoom to fill the screen, but sometimes the subtitles are under the video while i've set it to "bottom of video".

Its like 60% of the movies its right while the other 40 procent its always on the "black" bar.

Is there a way to fix this? is this a Kodi issue? i've checked the resolution of the movies, they are all 21:9, so not 16:9 with black bars.

Problem with calibration not saving(/loading?). Fixes in other threads not working

Hi. I was on 17.5 and had to re-calibrate every time I started Kodi, I just figured I had a lot of crap addons and old configs that messed things up, so I thought I'd switch to 18 beta and start fresh. To my surprise I get the exact same thing with a fresh install: every time I start Kodi I have to redo the calibration. I've tried a few things, including a regedit fix I found in other threads, but nothing works. It just doesn't take. I really don't know what to try next?

Windows 10, 1070ti, projector that is turned off between sessions (no other screens).

Request - SoundCloud addon - Support for "High Quality" Streaming

Hey guys,

New option is available on Go+ accounts (30 days free trial) for "High Quality" streaming. Which is actually just 256kbps aac, nothing fancy but still better than the default 64/128kbps mp3.

On the website and mobile applications this can be switched on in settings. Tested successfully with my account.

Within kodi add-on it seems hardcoded (I confirm it's still 128/mp3 even after switching to Go+), would be great to have this option in Kodi...

I PAY FOR USTV NOW AND HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION TO USTV NOW (NOT PIRACY GET SOME READING COMPREHENSION) It was downloaded from TV ADDONS REPOSITORY but I PAY USTV NOW EVERY MONTH DIRECT  Now on KODI and something has gone terribly awry. The program will not load fast when loading the tv listings and when you select a channel ( at times it simply refuses to recognize the request times out and says your information is wrong. Then it will repeatedly freeze over and over on a show where I suspect there is heavy viewership, but the crappy shows work fine. After the freezing it will eventually drop the channel and you will have to go back and reselect it. THIS IS GETTING REAL OLD I PAY FOR IT (AGAIN NOT PIRACY) and can't DEPEND ON WATCHING IT. OK I do the maintenance-clean the cache- thumbnails- and the other thing (forgot for the moment. I have a 2gb memory. This system has worked fine for a long time but has gotten worse and worse over the last four months or so. Now I have two boxes one hard wired to the modem the other not. Both systems have the problems. When I use Firefox no problems what so ever. I had a 150 MB download from Comcast and increased it to 250mb hoping that would clear the problem and no dice it is the same as it was before increasing speed. PLEASE HELP FIX IT. IT IS DOWN RIGHT OFFENSIVE YOU JUMP TO CALLING ME A PRIRATE WHEN I PAY FOR THE SERVICE LEGALLY

  2. Only when provider makes them available in Xtream Codes on iptv server
  3. IPTV providers doesn't always provide correct Media Info in Xtream Codes, so use Emby for probing Media Info

The trial version will have a 5 STRM export LIMIT, so that STRM export can be tested and direct downloading of VOD files is preserved for REGISTERED users ONLY (who bought a license).

Android - Is it a Kodi problem?

Hi, my new Belkin HDMI cable arrived yesterday and I used it extensively. I'd like to make a feedback.
This cable solved some problems but maybe it didn't solve all my problems ... but I don't know it.
When I click on Kodi icon, it opens more quickly. It is good. The version is: kodi-18.0-Leia_beta5-arm64-v8a
Then when I watch my 4K video (made by myself with a 4K camera) I see an overexposed video with languid colors. It happens many times (around 20 times on 50 times). Colors aren't originals.
Then I turn off Kodi and I open it again, then I see good colours, they are the original colours.
If I open Kodi 100 times I get that problem for around 70 times.
Sometimes when I open Shield from TV page I see a black screen without signal. I need to come back to TV channel/programs and then when I open Shield again everything is OK.
I got this problem only 2 times.
Now .... I can send back my Shield and to replace it with another one. I have no problems to do it. But I think my real problem is Kodi and not Shield.
What is yout opinion?

EDIT: My videos are 4K 8 bit BT709 50hz (Pal system)

Hi, I have many problems with Shield but I tell you the biggest. From 2-3 days I use my new Belkin HDMI cable but I got the same problems even with my old HDMI cable.
I make 4K videos with GH5. I live in Europe and I shoot 4K 8 bit BT709 50hz (Pal system).
Then when I watch my 4K video I see an overexposed video with languid colors. It happens many times (around 70 times on 100 times). Colors aren't originals.

v18 - Getting a crash when skin ver of addon extendedinfo dialog window closes

I've been integrating the extendedinfo script into my skin.  The addon uses 3 dialog xml files to show its gui controls.  When I run the addon using its own skin windows from its /skins/Default/1080i it exits OK, but with the windows converted into my skin when I give the "back" action in the window it looks like extendedinfo gets it and exits then when Kodi closes the window it crashes.  My theory is maybe the controls are being held somewhere (Kodi? addon?) and not being released properly and that causes a problem when the window is closed.  Any ideas on how to dig deeper into this?

Hi, I don't know which section to put this message so I posted here.

I created an account and have posted in the Mi box thread about a Facebook group created by the Xiaomi Mi Box Product manager only for the beta testers to help the devs fixing the bugs.

After posting this my account and ip were banned.

Could you please just say why have I been banned since I didn't have the possibility to explain myself.

Why is the audio metadata/info not scraping on these 2 files (Dolby TrueHD + Atmos)?

Hi Guys,

Any idea why these 2 movies won't populate the audio section in the metadata/media info window? Both files are 4K with Dolby TrueHD + Atmos. I am using the Xonfluence Skin but have tried with Confluence and others.

When scraping movie, I get "Parameter is not valid" and the program quit.

Bug - Green blinking line at bottom of video

When watching some videos, a green blinking line will randomly appear at bottom of video...

It seems to occur/appear when I do a rewind or fast forward
and then it would stay there permanently.

Full disclosure.  I heard this is the best website to see Boxing on PPV.  I did download KODI to my computer, but am not at all tech savvy.  The app seems very complicated.  In layman;s terms, whats the best way to easily Steam Boxing (Or other sports) on here?

Android - Audio PCM hack on V18 Leia

Hi,
To get the audio pass through on my Sony Bravia TV, I tried to apply the 2 lines PCM hack on the latest code of kodi as @fritsch mentioned in other posts before. It mostly works but with a little audio jerk when the playing starts sometimes(not always): the format flag light on my AV blinks between the actual format(DTS/DD) and PCM for a few seconds(no sound) and then plays the audio correctly. It seems it is trying to figure out the format of the audio bit stream and finally recognizes it. But this definitely never happens with SPMC krypton. With SPMC my AV can play the pass through audio very smoothly. I compared the debug log of kodi and SPMC but didn't find any thing abnormal with kodi. Can @fritsch or @Koying or someone give me some hint what the problem might be and where I should check or look at in the code?
