FF/REW return normal playback speed by pressing play not working

Sony TV using remote Leia Beta's/RC I have noticed that when fast forwarding or rewinding pressing play does nothing and continues to FF or REW and does not revert to normal playback speed as it did before in 17.

I have found I have to press pause when I get to where I want and then press play to resume at normal speed.

Is this a bug in the leia or is their something changed that I can configure to fix this?

Sorry if it has been spoken about already but couldn't find anything on it.

Bug - Can Not change system language

after a new clean installation and update to 
Milhouse #1126 can not change the system language anymore, also can not update any addon.

This is a problem with the Kodi mirror server(s), and it's not a LibreELEC issue as far as I can tell. It seems to happen every now again, affecting only a small number of users, but nobody has been able to pin it down.

Has any body solved this?

Music Videos wont scan to library

Hi,

sorry for bad english.

I have a problem with Main Menu "Music videos"

I added <artist> in all of my Music Video nfo File like this:

When i go from Main Menu to Music Video/artist, i see the list of Videos from the artist, but no pictures, no plot text. I tried it with all versions in View Options. Must i install a special Addon?

When I add a new movie to TinyMediaManager and scrape the data from IMDB.. The release date does not get added..  I have to scrape it twice for it to show up.  Is this a known bug or seen by others as well?

Android - Video Stuttering and freezing Kodi Krypton Nvidia Shield

Hi,

I've a Nividia Shield with Kodi Krypton.
I've some stuttering in all my videos, most visible in 4K videos.
In Disney Introduction (with the castle and fireworks), the stuttering is very "strong", my amp loose the sound signal, it's not a "light" stuttering as it come often for 1 second, here, it lasts all the introduction with the disney castle.
I've made some tests, and in my opinion there's no network issue because the same video is played correctly with my laptop, with the internal player of my TV and also with Plex.

Could someone give me some advice to fix this ?

Hi there,

I've been successfully showing my kids the origins of gaming, using MAME.  Funny how much fun they get out of controlling an amphibian across the screen.

I've been using a Logitech wireless gamepad f710, which works great out of the box with milhouse Rpi builds of kodi.
I connected an old Playstation DualShock (wireless) controller the other day and it works in Kodi, again by magic.
The PlayStation controller navigates around Kodi as expected, starts games.  The only thing is that it doesn't seem to send commands when inside MAME.
Select doesnt add coins, Select+X doesnt bring anything up... Select+Start exits retroplayer.

Thoughts?

Using "album fanart" fallback for Artists without fanart

Hi there,

I am using Kodi 18 Beta 5, and I see its possible to choose individual fanarts for Albums of the same Artist. Thats really nice since I have a lot of OST Albums with Various Artists, so I now can have a specific fanart for each OST Album.

The problem I have is, that I don't have Artwork for every single Artist. I know I can set a fallback, but I don't want to link to a Default fanart, I like to link to the the Album fanart of the song that is currently selected/playing, if no Artist fanart exists.

Is that possible to achieve?

NextPVR not loading live tv channels on Kodi 17.6 Windows 10.

Running NextPVR as my TV add-on for Kodi 17.6 in  Windows 10 Pro. Problem is that about 99% of the time when I choose a TV channel from the list to watch nothing happens. The icon just sites there spinning forever and won't load the selected channel. Eventually after several minutes it will stop spinning and display some sort of NextPVR client unavailable error in red. Or if I logout or restart Windows 10 it most likely will work. But exiting or stopping playback of live tv will cause NextPVR to stop working again.

Yet I can open the NextPVR application and it has no problem loading any of the selected tv channels.

Updated NextPVR many times to the latest release and still not working. Is there a way to fix so I get live tv working in KODI?

Win - MS Windows screen resolution resize functionality.

I admit I'm a bit lazy but would be very grateful if someone could point out where in the source tree you can find the MS Windows screen resolution resize functionality.

The reason why I'm asking is that I want to investigate why Kodi reacts on down-scale but not on up-scale events. This happens for example when Kodi is hooked up to a home theater system when you switch source and the port gets inactive and then back again.

srt subtitles not showing in kodi 18.x

hi I've got my nvidia shield tv for like 3 month now and everything works like a charm.

I just updates to kodi 18 rc1 and later on to rc2. (had kodi 17.6 krypton subs working there)

but since kodi18 loose .srt subtitle files aint working. who know the fix for this?

alrdy found some articles about auto play next file and stuff and pressing t to turn off and on subs. but this all doesn't do anything to fix em.

When backing up tMM should one do a back up from
\Tiny MediaManager\cache
and / or
\Tiny MediaManager\cache\image
as well?

Or can tMM automatically do a back up?

So, in my opinion Kodi works quite good on this tv, besides two small things:

(first of all, I share my library from a Synology NAS via NFS)

1. the first playback I do on kodi after turning on the tv has always an audio delay of some ms, this will fix by either pausing the video for at least 5 seconds or going 10 seconds back or forward with the playback

2. the library clean-up won't work, in any case, it would stuck by 30-40% and a reboot of the app would be necessary

Anybody got the same problem or know how to fix it? Many thanks

v18 - No Fullscreen after standby

Hi,
only in the v18 Beta & RC1, not in v17, I'm facing the issue that no fullscreen is possible after entering Standby/Deep Sleep. Kodi is restored as a window after waking up, and pressing ALT+ENTER makes it not bigger, but hides all other content in black. Only a complete restart of Kodi restores the fullscreen. Find my debug log attached.

Hi, i have a external hard drive  with one only film, and in this  drive, i have folder called spiderman, inside this folder, i have this:

spiderman.mkv
fanart.jpg 
poster.jpg

I try all things for example changing fanart and poster to :

spiderman.mkv
spiderman-fanart.jpg 
spiderman-poster.jpg

But same thing, on a clean kodi installation, i go to video source -> add source -> search my drive -> path spiderman -> create here path

And when i go to videos, select spiderman not showing fanart and poster..

Which is the problem?

I dont know which error i was having.. Sad and i dont want scrapping them on any online database, i only want use as source fanart and poster the same folder with this files

Watching movies/shows on my server at home remotely on an Android phone

I have a Synology NAS and a standalone minipc that I have Kodi installed on. I have a bunch of movies and shows on my NAS. The minipc has access to all my media. Synology has a UPNP server that I use to watch movies/shows at home. However, I want to watch some movies and/or shows when I'm traveling and/or not at home. Google results are so cluttered with junk articles that there's no context for "Kodi Stream Android" or other variants.

What is the easiest way to stream your own media from Kodi to an Android phone remotely?

v18 - Crash on startup with Kodi 18 RC1

Hi there,

a fresh install of Kodi 18 RC1 is crashing as soon as the window comes up. My system for the TV is a Intel NUC D54250WYKH (i5-4250 Haswell, 8GB RAM, Intel HD 5000 128GB M2 SSD + 1TB HDD) running Win 7 Pro x64.
First i thought it could be my portable_data folder that i have made on my PC. But after renaming it so that Kodi can create a fresh one didn't helped. Some time ago i also tried Kodi 18 Alpha 2 and 3 but dropped it for the stuttering playback-problem. But aside from that it ran good. No crashes at all.

Small EDIT: Forgot to mention that on my PC, RC1 runs fine.

I checked several logs after crashes and it looks like on all logs the last line is this: DEBUG: CIRServerSuite::Connect: connecting to: 127.0.0.1:24000 ...
Hope someone has an idea of what's going wrong here.
