Has something changed in kodi for scanning nfo's ?

I noticed after a new build my library is missing 9 TV shows which worked before on other kodi's using Ember. I ran missing Movies addon and they showed up. So I removed on Show back to my main PC rescanned it with Ember put it back on the network now it shows !
Now I really am confused

This has happened on both OSMC and LibreElec latest working versions

v18 - File manager doesn't display hidden files ...

I have this problem in both CoreElec and Windows 7 with either Leia beta2 or 17.6, with both the default Estuary and Mimic skins.

I have enabled Show hidden files and folders under Media settings.

Under File Manager, I can see .zip and .xml files transferred from Win7 via WinSCP under Profile Directory. But these files and not visible under Add Source> Browse. Under Browse, none of the files in any folder seem available.

I don't see any menus for copying files but right clicking on the file brings up a Select All/Rename/Delete menu.

The WinSCP file transfer and move/delete files under the CoreElec/Win7 Kodi side works and I can make all the Kodi files visible by clicking on Hidden Files in bottom right corner of WinSCP.

Hello everyone. First post here. Love the project. Love open source. Hate compatibility issues. Here's mine.

I'm posting here because I'm pretty sure this is OS independent (although I don't to windoze so it's hard for me to say).
I have 3 decent desktops, all i5 or i7, all have nVidia GTX750ti cards, all run Xubuntu 16.04LTS.
All of my laptops are also i5 or i7 with nVidia Ion Graphics using Bumblebee.
My router is a Netgear R8000 with Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r36070M kongac (05/31/18) optimized for MM transport.
I'm not a noob.

My problem is, my Sony Bravia KDL-48W600B positively will not display a folder list from Kodi (virtually all of the time).
I have updated the television firmware and run all of the diagnostics. The TV reports it's connected to the Kodi server.
I have been all the way through every configuration parameter. I have correctly added videos to the libraries.
When I try to browse files from the TV, lights are on but nobody is home. I have tried Kodi 17.6 stable and 18 beta from the PPA.
Each time I have deleted or renamed ~/.kodi to ensure my configs were fresh. Positively no joy.

EXCEPT FOR ONCE!  I have no idea what I did and I have yet to figure out how to replicate it but on one occasion, as I was attempting to configure Kodi and going back and forth to the TV, I noticed that I had a folder directory listing of videos! So I took the opportunity to test playback and it worked flawlessly. That was a one time event. I have yet to see it again. Very, VERY frustrating.

Now, I hate to mention the competition, but I must tell you that there is a Linux package out there that I have gotten to work with this TV, and that's Serviio. Their GUI is minimalistic. Their options are few. But it works. It just works. It even transcodes on the fly. The only reason I'm looking into other projects is because I was having playback performance issues. That's how I stumbled onto Kodi. I love the interface and everything open source about it. But there's something Serviio is doing right that Kodi is not. I don't know what that is but I sincerely hope you figure it out.

Please let me know if there's any other information you may need or options I might try to help diagnose the problem.

When I setup my widgets to my library the shows are always in the order of when I scanned them to my library how do I change them to alphabetical order instead?

v17 - nvidia shield experience 7.1 Oreo killing kodi 17.6 upon tv off/on

Had my ShieldTV for over a year, previous nv exp 6.3.  All was working fine.  This shield is a dedicated Kodi box, I never turn it off, only tv and avr.  Updated to nv 7.1 oreo, and kodi is killed if I turn tv off and back on.

Shield is hdmi directly into TV, no flirc, all CEC turned off (everywhere).  AVR is hung off tv via ARC, no direct connection to shield.

I start kodi, go into a menu like movies.  Turn tv off.  Turn tv back on.  Shield top light on constantly (ie no sleep), but Kodi is dead.  Back to shield home menu.  Have to restart kodi.

From log, it looks like while tv was off, kodi was still running.  Not until I turn tv back on does kodi get terminated.

If I sleep shield first, turn off tv, turn on tv, wake shield, all is well.

Shield support level 2 said: since youtube has no such problem, it's Kodi.  Case closed.

Any help would be appreciated!

Kodi v18 slow launch with OSX Mojave

Just upgraded to OSX Mojave and installed a fresh version of the latest Kodi v18 beta.  The app appears to freeze during the launch for about 20 seconds before finally starting.

You can see that the startup process hangs for quite a while (20 seconds or so) at this point before continuing:

Video player options (stop, play, exit) works in debug mode but not in normal mode

Hi,

My set up is: RetroPie 4.4 with Kodi 18.0 BETA3
Operating system: Raspbian Stretch Kernel: Linux 4.14.70-v7+

I compile Kodi 18.0 Beta3 in a raspberry pi 3, everything seems ok except when I try to play a video; the video start but the videoplayer options doesnt work, in order to debugg the error I switch to debugg mode (ctr + shif + d ) and start the video but in this case everything is ok (the video plays and the options works).

v18 - Can not disable GAMES from home window

On my Home window in Confluence, the GAMES button is present. I'm not sure if this is by default or if it is due to me having a second profile for a time that was running with a different skin (Estuary). When I tried to disable this button I found that there is no "Hide - Games" option on the Home Window options.

TV Show split on several Harddrives?

Hi,
I ran out of space on my harddrive. So I got a new hard drive.
Kodi does recognize the new hdd.
I want to split up seasons of TV show between the harddrives, but don‘t get it to work.

E.g. TV Show‘s seasons 1, 2 and 3 are stored on the old hdd, season 4 is on the new hdd.
But the should show up in the library as a single TV show.
Right now I only get it to show up as two TV shows.

Hod do I change it to on single one?

I'm on Kodi 18 Nightly adn Win10 and I get this error message after Netflix addon install, if I reinstall Kodi it runs once but after exiting and try to run it again the error occurs.

What to do?

OS X - Kodi 18 Beta 3 on imac - track pad does not work

Have downloaded the beta 3 version of Kodi 18 onto my imac running with osx 10.13.6. Have checked that the mouse input is on under the system information but Kodi does not display the mouse pointer correctly -it appears then disappears when you try to move it.. However Kodi does operate using the keyboard controls with no problems. I haave tried using a mouse wired directly to the imac, with a trackpad over wifi and a mouse over wifi with no differences in throughput.

Is anyone else having this problem??

Linux - Trakt.tv

Hi all,

Im just having strange behavior with trakt. It's not marking my videos as watched and the strange thing is, if i fast forward the video till the end it works. But, if i let the video flow normally as it should, then nothing happens (no rating window pops up). I already confirmed that the video is not marked as watched in tmy trakt account.
I already tried to re-authorize my account and uninstall/install more then one time.

Any help would be appreciated...

Is there anyway to show TRIVIA if it was stored in the NFO file ?

Can't seem to find any info on if you can scrape Trivia .. if it was in the NFO is it hard for your skin to read it in and out to screen or is that a core Kodi thing ?

CoreELEC (Leia) on TV Box S905x with Mediaportal PVR Client Addon not working

I have a Raspberry Pi 3+  with LibreELEC Leia. I installed the Mediaportal PVR Client Addon via "install from LibreELEC repository". The Mediaportal addon is working without problems. The TV Server is a pc WIndows 7 Home with Mediaportal 1.17 and the TV Server Kodi Plugin 1.15.0.137.
Now I bought a TV Box (X96 S905x 2GB 16GB) and installed CoreELEC (Leia). Then I tried to install the Mediaportal PVR Client Addon via "install from CoreELEC repository". But it's not working. I get a black screen after install and the box reboots in safe mode. During installation I recognized that the Mediaportal PVR Client addon version is different between LibreELEC and CoreELEC. Can I somehow copy the Mediaportal PVR Client addon from LibreELEC and install it on my CoreELEC TV box?

v17 - Unreadable pendrive

I have a fully functional pendrive from which I want to read movies and music, Kingston 128Gb, Kodi 17.6 installed raspberry 3b +. The pen is formatted with exfat but kodi (libreelec) does not read it. Another pendrive (always Kingston) but 16 GB and with the same formatting works very well. Is the 128-note pendrive too big? Opinions about the malfunction? Thank you

RPCbind

I am running LibreElec 8.2.5 on a raspberry pi 3b, however I found out that the port 111 is open on this system. This is used by RPCbind, I was wondering if I can remove this program to ensure my system can not be used for DDos attacks.
However I was unable to find if RPCbind is required for any operations within LibreElec. Is there anyone who knows if I can safely remove RPCbind? Or somehow block any IP address which is not from my home network?
Do I need RPCbind in order for the JSON-RPC to work?

Hi guys,

I want to change the type of sort by in MyPVrCHANNELS.XML to be list instead of open new window.

I found this is related to button but don't know how to edit it because is attached with Button ID=3:

v17 - Video listing stuttering

Hey,

I'm currently writing a video plugin that gathers info from my API according to the wiki.

Which works perfectly but has one flaw: Opening the listing causes Kodi to freeze for half a second every time it is opened. Which isn't that annoying when listing it for the first time but quickly becomes annoying when switching between the player and the listing with tab, that does cause the video to freeze while Kodi is loading.
This also happens with the example project on GitHub.

I looked around and this doesn't seem to happen with the video listing for the YouTube plugin. It does with the menu of the YouTube plugin but every video listing (Popular, Completed Live, ...) is opened smoothly.

What's the difference between the video listing for the YouTube plugin and the video listing in the example project? Is there a way to get rid of the stuttering? I'm currently using the exact same code for adding my items as in the example (+ API request).
I read a lot about caching and the "offscreen" property for ListItem in v18 but I couldn't find a clear answer on best practice for this matter or an example.
