Open PVR LiveTV Architecture somehow for new features
Hi,
since broadcasting is shifting more and more to IPTV or DVB-S to ethernet streaming (in LAN), I notice that the IPTV provider features are not possible to realize in kodi PVR code.
As far as I understood realizing anything as a Video Addon is easily possible (because python code?) for capable developers without changing anything in KODI code.
But including new features as a PVR-Client is not possible at all, because PVR-Addons apparently need to be a C-Code and they are also absolutely restricted to the LiveTV feature set, which is included in Kodis LiveTV code.
Example 1:
Here in Europe we have IPTV providers like Zattoo and Teleboy, Magine TV etc. Most or every of those services include a Re-Play feature which offers the entire Television program of the past 7 days. Usually you would simply open your EPG, list some days back and start (e.g.) Big Bang Theory from two days ago, which you missed because of a Birthday Party or so.
Well... In kodis PVR/LiveTV section respectively code, there is no such possibility to realize this feature. It is simply not meant to start shows from past days or times. You would need to patch resp. alter the code of kodi and then Patch your entire kodi with it to get these features working with one particular PVR-Client (some developers do these hacks in german kodinerds forum already). However these additions most probably break compatibility with other PVR-Clients, which are meant to comply with original Kodi code.
Example 2:
Again zattoo IPTV. Zattoo provides a feature like current playing guide mosaik preview as static thumbnails:![[Image: Z9HBQCD.jpg]]()
It's an overview of every show, which is now playing. Simply navigate to the static thumbnail and tune the channel by clicking on it. The thumbnails are requested from the zattoo server (a feature) when opening this preview view. The screenshot is from a zattoo kodi video add-on, which has this feature realized, as well as the Re-Play feature. Unfortunately it is not possible to include such things as PVR-Client add-on because of mentioned restrictions.
Example 3:
PVR-Clients are not supposed to be working with inputstream add-on. Hence no DASH stream support is present, which is the getting the standard format for streaming content now. Also future DRM stuff won't be possible this way.
Well, one could always use the full-featured Video Add-on or so, but there the Recordings and channels are not connected to kodis LiveTV-Api, so controls, timer overviews and Yatse PVR Integration is not present, because it is simply a video add-on and not a cool pvr-addon.
I know, that this might be hard to achieve, but perhaps there is a way to discuss and think about how to make the Kodi PVR-Integration open for these kinds of features and for new ones which might come up in the future.

Kodi 17.3 Subtitles cause video playback stuttering
Hello,
Since Kodi 17, all video files start to stutter when subtitles are enabled.
The stuttering occurs every few seconds or less, irregularly. The pause is for less then a second each.
With Kodi 16, there was no issue at all.
More info:
- local video files
- srt subtile files locally stored (I have not tried with other formats, yet)
- Win 7 system
- Kodi 17.3
I already tried:
- Changing subtitle font
- enabling/disabling video hardware accelerations
- searched the whole internet for a solution :-)

TLBB V1 Help
Hello all,
I need help fixing my TLBB V1 box, as it appears to be bricked and not booting up.
Tried to address and communicate the problem with the developer and I'm getting no response. It appears the developer no longer provides support for this box and after searching the internet for any firmware, I am asking anyone to help, if by chance may have this box version and has the firmware version tlbb_v.1.3.2_update.zip, or the full version of version 1.2.2 available and willing to share it.
I am sorry if the subject it's out of the forum's scope, but I am desperate and do not know were to turn for help.
Any other helpful suggestion will be appreciated.

[CMIK] TFC.tv addon - repo / updates / support

I'm creating this new and fresh thread after that the old TFC.tv one was closed (https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid...pid2602806)
This addon was originally created by Todits (many thanks for his work) and I'm continuing to maintain it (during my freetime![Wink]( "Wink")
) since TFC has released their website Beta version and recently their final version by fixing bugs, adding shows/episodes description, banners, using TFC api, etc.... This is first for my personal use (family and friends) but I'm freely sharing my work with the community as you can access your favorite TFC shows and movies from your Kodi platform.
This addon is not an official TFC.tv addon but it complies to this forum rules. This addon works with your TFC.tv account as if you were connected to their website.

Xiaomi Mi Box BT remote and Raspberry Pi

Hope I've done my homework well before posting![Big Grin]( "Big Grin")
Been googling for days to find out a way to get the Xiaomi Mi Box bluetooth remote working with Kodi (Krypton) on a Raspberry Pi (2 + bluetooth dongle). It's a simple and cheap BT remote, pretty close to the Apple TV one, so I gave it a try. Oh boy, what a ride so far ...
The remote can be paired with Kodi. I can see it in /proc/bus/input/devices.
I can use evtest to see what codes it sends :
So I've used this thread to try to get the remote to work. No luck.
I've created the evmap file (how exciting ... KEY_VOLUMEUP = KEY_VOLUMEUP and so on). No luck (yes, the 99-eventlircd.rules is created, and the directory is mounted properly).
There are a few things that seem weird ... maybe it has nothing to do though. Xiaomi being a Chinese company, the name of the device is in Chinese :

So my 99- file contains this name, in Chinese. Not sure if there's a problem there (plus it says keyboard here, while Kodi shows it as a gamepad).
Second, the codes sent by the remote seem to use a different BT protocol ?
This is totally different from the (working) BT keyboard I've used for comparison (sends L2CAP codes instead).
I've tried the keymap editor, but nothing happens when I press the buttons ...
I also wanted to create a small eventclient to mimic what happens with the PS3 BD remote, but I'm stuck with some python libs that can't be installed. So no luck this way either.
Would anyone have other pointers to things I could try ? Debug settings to turn on to monitor the BT status in Kodi ?

Possible Bug
I just downloaded and installed Kodi 17.3 Krypton over my previous version of Kodi and seem top have a problem...
When I try to search for a title using the built-in keyboard nothing happens... I know the movies exist because I found some by searching by year... it is much faster for me to search for the title like I did with all previous versions of Kodi without any problems like this...
Basically what happens is there is a momentary cycling (the little circle spinning in the center of the screen) then nothing happens... no selection of movies with the 'search phrase' appear...
If it helps... I am running Windows 7
Any body have any suggestions... and please do not even suggest upgrading to Windows 10... I tried it and simply refuse to use it...

Import kodi db file (android and windows) into ms access
I want to import the kodi video library of kodi instances on android and/or windows into an easily accessinle database like access (i have an ms access db running so that would be my first preference). First query would be to highlight all movies that have no audio language specified.
How can i import the kodi lib?
I tried importing the xml created by "export to single file", but that looses links between video and audio tables it seems (xml structure is lost). Copying the *.db file and importing that doesnt seem to work as i dont know if / how access can read that format.
Any tips?

Wraplist - triggering and setting position
Two questions regarding wraplist:
1. The below list is data provider for a button. The problem is that the plugin is called only when I try to manipulate the list (like move to next element with Control.Move). How to force loading it on window load?
2. Is there a way to set wraplist to its initial item? By index or by label.
