Hi,
I have a strange issue that came up after I switched from Eden to Frodo Beta 2. I'm using a laptop, hooked to a Creative Extigy USB2 soundcard. With Eden, I had it configured for Optical/Coax, 5.1 Speakers, and only Dolby Digital AC3 ticked off for supported Codecs. Audio was perfect, DTS was converted, and I still had 5.1, AC3/DD came through perfect as well.
With Frodo Beta 2, I have extremely loud, distorted audio, on the GUI Sounds, and any media I play. It's like the preamp is through the roof and I've tried everything to resolve this.
Note: I am using Windows XP, as this is the last Windows OS Creative decided to make a driver for.
Any ideas as to what could be causing this? If I switch to my internal laptop sound, it's not distorted. I've tried a clean install, and another laptop, and I'm having the same issue. I've tried switching to Analog 5.1, same issue, force Direct Sound (though after research, I'm guessing this is the only mode available anyway seeing I'm using XP).
