Apple TV 4th Gen + Macbook Air = Stuttering Streaming

Hi there,

I've tried everything under the sun to put my Kodi 15.2 to stream from my MacBook Air (running OS 10.11.1) to my Apple TV 4th Gen through my (router) Belkin 1750AC on the 5ghz network.

It streams fine Netflix, but when it comes down to Kodi, it struggles a lot. An Apple specialist mentioned that it might be due to Kodi's settings (which could potentially by tweaked to facilitate the streaming).

What do you guys think?

Skin for Rom Collection Browser

Hello,

I'm using Kodi with Xperience1080. I also use an addon called Rom Collection browser, but as it seems Xperience1080 does not offer a skin for it out of the box, which is pretty sad, because it's an awesome addon for playing console games on your Kodi station. I've googled a bit, but could not find a skin for it. Has anyone done this? If so, I would gladly appreciate a share Smile

Because the addon itself doesn't seem to be very complicated (look-wise at least) I've tried to come up with something by myself. I got to the point where I was able to import a certain view type (let's say the list view) into my addon's xml file, but I wasn't able to display any content whatsoever. I ended up speding 1 full day trying to get something to show up, without success. I thought that there has to be a "quick" way to use the Xperience1080 view types, and just feed them the RCB specific data like game title, console and so on. However, cause I had no success after hours I eventually figured I should ask here.

I think many people would appreciate an adaption of RCB to Xperience1080, however I don't expect someone to do just because I asked, I guess you guys are all pretty busy Tongue But.. could someone tell me how to do it? Or is it just too complicated?

In the end, I just want to be able to view my roms with the integraded Xperience1080 view types, just like Movies or TV Shows for example, nothing more. So if one could explain to me what to do, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, if someone has done this already - please share - otherwise.. could someone actually do this? Would be awesome!

Kodi UPnP server is not updating UPnP client library

Hi Everyone,

I am newbie in kodi and had a deployment in our office using kodi as media server. Here's my setup below.

1. Installed kodi media server on a linux 14.0 machine and I configured this as UPnP server to share Video libraries to all UPnP clients

2. UPnP clients are SONY Android TV with kodi isengard 15.2 installed ( same version with the media server)

3. What I do is upload videos on my media server and I want to real-time update/push these updates to all UPnP clients

Problem 1: UPnP clients doesn't receive the media server video library updates on real-time/even not real-time. I need to stop Kodi on all clients and there I have the updates

Tried solution: Installed cronjob on media server to do a remote video library update but no success. Installed XMBC Auto update add-on on all clients and configured a cronjob with every minute update and still no success

What I want to achieve here was to have my media server video library to push all updates to all UPnP clients whenever a new video was uploaded.

help; button and opening album view with dbid

Basically I have a bunch of boxes as buttons, the contents of which are the items in the albums db.
I want that button onclick to open the album selected.
What label/property can i use for the onclick?
Is listitem.dbid, foldername, path.. just cant see the wood for the trees!
Have tried send click to original container but nothing doing, send message to container etc.

Im using the buttons to nav the container as it is misshaped.
Im guessing sendclick(601) just sends me back to buttons due to onfocus in container.

How to change the fanarts transparency ?

Hello, I wish to change how much of the fanart backgrounds you see while browing movies. right now it's a tad too light, you can't see a thing, I'd like it to be a little brighter, Is this possible? if so how ? I've looked through defaults.xml but I just don't understand what I'm completely reading right here.

TVDB Scrapper Not Showing Show

Greetings.

I am trying to scrape this show http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=79300&lid=7

I have the title of the folder Ctrl+Alt+Del and the season inside as they should be.

The log shows this-->

Code:
No information found for item 'smb://COMPUTER/Videos/TV Shows/Ctrl Alt Del/', it won't be added to the library.

Not sure what is going on. I cleared the scraper cache as well as renamed the folder to Ctrl Alt Del but still hasn't shown up in my TV shows.

Ideas?

Interleaving channels ... help

Im using the latest incarnation of pseudo as of 11/1/15 , Isenguard 15.2, I made a very simple S2 with 4 channels, each channel a simple "tv show"

I have tried this: ch1 - interleave with channel 2 with these settings: channel # = 1, days of the week UMTWS, time 12:00, episode count 5

with these settings Im expecting to see in ch1, parts of ch2 (about 5 episodes) at around 12pm on Mon Tues Weds.....

I see no changes to the CH1 at any times of day or day....

My questions are:
1) in my example am I asking channel 1 to put parts of channel2 in it? or is channel 2 getting parts of channel1?
2) what is the correct "days of the week" settings? I cant see the description completly, whats the setting for ALL days? and what does it look like when I just want mon or wedsConfused
3) is there a problem with having diffrent video types (avi, mp4 fl) etc?

anyway Ive beenplaying with the interleaving for a bit now and cant figure out any combination that shows changes in the schdules... Ive searched, it seems simple but sofar no joy....

anyone? thanks for responses in advance... again these are local shows nothing special, just want to inter leave, want tv shows untill 9pm then throw in a movie etc.. nothing over the top...

Skin Creator,

I just read this

It mentioned that once they move from the alpha stage into the beta stage (which they are close they say) that all skins will marked as incompatible.

I really love this skin and use it on all of my HTPC's and would love to see this updated. I was wondering if you planned on updating the skin to support Kodi 16.

Cleanup and Improve binary add-on GUI handling

Currently I making a big rework the "library.kodi.gui lib" for binary add-ons. Before was it for programming from outside bad and with everything in one header not directly viewable what's needed for a add-on itself.

Due to the work of my new feature to bring in internet browser to kodi are also more parts required for there, that's why is now primary for me. If everything is done can also be on other add-ons this more easy be used.

Here is the current Version on Kodi:

On reworked version is only be present what's needed for add-on during development. Everything else not needed for programming is separated to internal headers on a sub folder.

My question is now, how are the programming related parts handled. Leave them in one header or to separate them in own? Related to this I have the following ways:
- Leave in one header for programming
- Make every class to a own header like in Kodi itself
- Make every type in own header, e.g. Dialogs, Windows, Controls and General

What think you about it?

Kodi won't load - segmentation fault

Hi folks,

I am currently running Kodibuntu on my HTPC (HP N54L Microserver and ASUS Radeon HD6450 1GB Silent) and things have been going fine. Had a message come up the other day to upgrade from Kodi 14.x to Kodi 15.x. I upgraded to the new Kodi 15.x and it worked however it was very laggy and sometime unresponsive to input via the remote etc etc.

Last night I decided to try and update the kernel and see if that helped. I also had an unrelated issue with my USB bluetooth dongle that hadn't worked since upgrading the previous time to Linux 14.04 and had read that it was an issue with the older Kernel.

I have managed to update the kernel however I now can't get Kodi to run. I can get into the desktop environment but that is all. As soon as I try and run Kodi via terminal it crashes straight away and doesn't load. It comes up with a segmentation fault. I am still fairly new at linux so really no idea how to fix it at this point so I was hoping someone here could help me out. As a plus side I can see my USB bluetooth dongle now....

I updated as much as I could through the package manager so I am pretty sure I am all good there.

I see in the crash log that it says "Failed to find matching visual" so I am taking a guess at something graphics related?

Everything seems to be working fine within the desktop environment. All of my background applications seem to be running. I just can't get Kodi to boot.

EDIT - Here is a crash log that was working from the other day (until it crashed for a different reason). You can see that it is running the older kernel and it gets further along past the matching visual part and shows the videocard details etc etc. Hopefully this helps a bit to narrow it down:

What does it do?
Youtube Library is an addon that allows you to add Youtube Channels / Playlists to your Kodi Library as if it were TV Shows! For a clearer picture, you can watch the video below. If you're really impatient, the endresult is at 1:38.

Demonstration / How to use
Download this zip file and in Kodi go to: System -> Addons -> Install from zip




Features
- Rips entire youtube playlists to the Kodi Library
- Creates NFO & STRM files (tvshow.nfo & [ep].nfo, [ep].strm)
- Grabs/downloads artwork (fanart, banner, thumbnail) for the (youtube) tvshow (you can edit these images easily)
- Grabs artwork (thumbnail) for each episode
- Automatically fills in titles & descriptions for tvshow & episodes
- Automatically grabs airdate for tvshow & episodes
- Can set title for (youtube) tv show
- Can set genres for (youtube) tv show
- Automatically generates nice looking season numbering (year, number, regex) & episode numbering (default, playlist position, monthday, monthdayhour, monthdayhourminute, number, regex)

Known Bugs / Limitations
- Videos are max. 720p, even if higher resolutions are available
- No subtitle support
- It's possible you don't get new episodes if the order of the playlist is not (exactly) newest > oldest. (with oldest > newest, you will most certainly not recieve new videos. Blame Google for not including a sort-by-date option)
- Episode sorting option 'pos' is broken

Install Issues

Hi,

I first want to apologize for my lack of knowledge when it comes to kodi and Linux, it came highly recommended to me so i thought I would give it a try for one of my HTPCs.
This is a clean install and have tried reinstalling several times

Hardware: Intel NUC : DN2820FYK

KODIBUNTU - KODI v 15.2 Git:02e7013 (compiled: oct 19 2015)
- Ubuntu v 14.04.3 LTS (Kernal: Linux 3.13.0-66-generic)

My first issue, I have read that when you click the power icon in the bottom and select exit you sould be taken to the desktop of Libuntu, that is not happening for me it goes to the password screen and then right to the same KODI Confluence screen. Am I doing something wrong?

Second issue is when trying to do sudo apt-get upgrade i get an error relating to Nvidia 304

Hello,

Is there a way to reduce the submenu items to just 3 items and not make them stretch the whole length of the submenu bar ?
also i would like to remove the option in the sidebar that says toggle oscar mod.

Using aeon nox Silvo as base for my skin.

internet: not connected

Hello, i have a zoomtak t8 plus. I recently got a new router, hooked up my android to the network and it worked great, kodi is what i mostly use. i have an ip for the box, connected great. Next day i turn it on and no internet connection....? Setting/System info/network shows im connected to network but Internet : not connected. please help me, i dont always want to reboot my router. i was even have this problem before my new router.

Force visualisation during video?

Is there a way to force Kodi to show a visualisation instead of a video on certain plug ins?

I am not opposed to modifying a plugin file if necessary.

Friends watch a lot of music videos with static graphics on YouTube add on, which can lead to burn in on my plasma TV (PDP-LX5090) so I would like to avoid this.

The visualisers work on Kodi on the Raspberry Pi using latest beta of Milkdrop and I'd like to show those instead of static images.

I'm hoping if I modify the plugin that I can modify it so if the music tag/category is selected the visualiser is switched in automatically, but for now just a way to override it manually will be fine, which I can bind to a key.

Web URL as an Image Source?

I tried to add a web URL as an image source. When I did, it reported something about the server being offline. Strange. Is this a thing that's just not possible? Since I have been unable to figure out the stream URL for my local weather radar, I was able to find an animated GIF that is updated every 15 minutes or so.

I would like to use this, and link it to my Weather Sub-Menu so I can see it easily. If such a thing is not possible, would it be possible to request it as a feature in a future build?

Looking to create Concert Video Playlists

I'm very new to Kodi and have yet to buy a media player to play media on my TV. I'm looking at buying the Nvidia Shield TV and have recently converted all of my Cds to FLAC in preparation. I'm currently getting ready to convert all of my concert DVDs and Blu Rays to either MKV or ISO Image files. I've practiced with the trial version of Acrok's and Pavtube's Ultimate Converter software (I want an easy all in one product). Unfortunately the trial software doesn't allow me to save an MKV file with chapters and multiple audio tracks intact, so I'm not able to see if I can make a playlist that pulls tracks from different video concerts. My goal is to have all of my concert videos available as original quality files for the best video and audio possible.

Does anyone know if I would be able to make playlists that play tracks/chapters from different videos in a custom order so that I can bounce around between saved video files?

Would I be able to do it with a MKV file that has chapters and both the stereo and 5.1 audio tracks saved?

Or would I need to convert each track/chapter as a separate file for it to be recognized in a playlist?
