TMDB - Scraping Works But Artwork (posters fanart) do not download
Hi All,
I have enjoyed using XBMC/KODI for several years. I recently purchased a ASUS Chromebox and have loaded Kodibuntu on to it.
After scraping my My Movie library with TMDB, I noticed that almost all of my older DVD (VOB and ISO) movie artwork was not downloading when setting up my Movie sources. I spent a lot of time combing this Forum and searching google for ideas on how to fix the issue. Here are some of things I found out:
1) I discovered that TMDB changed its base url for images with little to no warning. Patches to the TMDB scraper followed (3.8.X...)
2) To address future unannounced changes, it appears that API /Configuration calls are made and parsed for specific info so that new URL strings can be dynamically built without hard-cdoing
3) TMDB Scraper updates work great with newer movie formats (MKV, AVI, MKV etc...) using proper folder naming - {Movie name} {Year of Movie}
4) When Scraping Older DVD sources, the Scraper DOES download movie info (Text info: Plot etc...) BUT FAILS to download the artwork. Looking at the DEBUG detailed kodi.log there are still references to the old TMDB image server at cloudfront.net: "20:09:22 T:140579497305856 ERROR: CCurlFile::Stat - Failed: Couldn't resolve host name(6) for http://d3gtl9l2a4fn1j.cloudfront.net/t/p/original/ywxrdkfbr8Dg3SBW2gi4kC59qOb.jpg"
It would be great to get some feedback or ideas on how to get the DVD artwork to show up in the Movies section. If it really is a bug, please fix soon.

Better naming/scraping for larger TV multi-episode files
At the moment if we have a single file containing multiple episodes of a TV show, we can have it scraped properly by using the series and episode numbers in a long string. For example if we have a file with 4 episodes of My TV Show, calling it "My TV Show S01E01E02E03E04" should work (presuming the scraper database has the info).
But I have a few shows on DVD which when ripped give basically the whole series (13 or so episodes in some cases) as a single file. Hence you end up with very long filenames to contain all the episode info.
Would it be possible to add an additional shorthand, something like S01E01*E13 or S01E01=E13 which Kodi would expand up to sequentially all episode numbers between the two? I know we can currently put S01E01-E13, but that is just the two episodes and not the 11 in between them.

Changing list view to thumbnails when selecting fan art/poster
Hi,
I had to nuke my Windows install & didn't have a chance to save my settings. One change I made & didn't know what I did was to change the view when selecting the fan art/posters from the list view to showing them as larger thumbnails.
My search skills aren't good enough to find the answer so I'm hoping someone can help.
I was using the Aeon Nox skin previously.
I've posted this in the General Windows section as I'm not sure if it's a program feature or a skin feature.

Arctic: Zephyr not compatable with mysql backend

Awesome skin. A good alternative to Refocus.
I use a Mysql library backend.
Everything works fine on the system that has populated the mysql database as it cached all the images during the scan.
But after that, I create an empty Kodi profile for the rest of my machines. I enter the mysql settings in advancedsettings and thats it. Kodi should populate the data from the mysql database. Grabbing images as needed.
There it does wrong. Most data and images are loaded but not all. For example, the covers are loaded, but the background fanart is not.
Log errror:
I switched back to Refocus skin and all images get populated right away without any issues.
Perhaps something to look at, allthough i don't expect that alot of people are running into this issue because i am doing abnormal stuff.

Subtitles language option.
Hi everyone,
I´m a real fan of your work and i have to say kodi is amazing platform... congratulations.
I became your fan since XBMC, now i use the minix-android with kodi-rc2 ( from google play). Since the actualization kodi - isengard Beta1, the option of the language Portuguese (Brazilian) in the subtitles disappear. We know that Portuguese and Portuguese (Brazilian) are the same language, but on the subtitles sites they separate them, then on kodi we stay limited just to the subtitles on language Portuguese, and that is not so good because it shows just a little few subtitles files.

Can't get out of play with back button on Fire Stick
Hi
Can anyone help, I have a Fire TV that when a video is playing and I press the back button whatever is playing stops and it returns to the previous command, I have now bought a Fire Stick with Kodi 14.2 set up but the problem I am having is that it wont let me return and the video keeps playing in the background, I have to select the white square on the video f/f rewind panel to get out, this means I have to go into the app again.This issue is only on Kodi by the way
Has anyone got a fix tor this.

PLEASE HELP
Can someone help me! New to the Apple TV world. I have an Apple TV2 and my roommate was watching a show and she did not touch anything and the screen has shrunk a quarter of the size to the left hand corner. I have screwed around a bit with the settings and have zoomed and repositioned and it has a got a little better but it seems not to be in full screen mode. Can anyone help?

wrong channel shows up.
ON my CHarter cable lineup H2 shows up as channel 723. FOr some reason when I select that channel in Kodi, I get some unknown channel called JeweleryTV. I when bak to WMC and 723 brings up the correct channel there.

Charter may have had a channel lineup change but the change did not include a change to channel 723.
In the process of troubleshooting, I also determined there was a HDHomeRun upgrade and applied it as well.

At-758 Android TV Box NO videoPlaying
I'm new to Antroid TV Box world. I have 2 AT-758 Neither box will play videos. One Box is ruing Kodi 15.0-RC2 and the other is Helix 14.1. When I go to play videos the says wokring then goes back the menu screen. I have went to the Video Acceleration screen and I have tried all three selections. Amodec,libstagefright, and Mediacodec and I have selected none. But none will play videos. I even enable the TV sections and I can get 722 channels but can't play any channels. I have downloaded the Kodi Logs

Radeon 280x distorted audio
Hey all,
I saved up and spent a bunch of money to put together a nice Kodi setup. Unfortunately, I was not able to get things working properly. Usually Kodi is very good about working out of the box.....
When using HDMI audio output, audio works, but is distorted and echoed. (Sounds a bit like a feedback loop when you put two cell phones on speakerphone next to each other...)
My Hardware:
HIS Radeon 280x video card
MSI Z87-GD65 mainboard
Notes
- Only the GUI sounds are distorted.... once playback begins, things seem to go to normal. Both bitstreamed, and decoded audio seem to work.
- Onboard sound card audio works fine, but I really need it over HDMI.
- Using the speaker-test utility to test the speakers results in the same distortions.
- Using KODI in live CD mode, the issue occurs.
Stuff I've Tried
- Disabled onboard audio, no luck.
- Swapped video cards. Also tried a MSI Radeon 7990, a 6870, and a 7970. All video cards had the same audio problem.
- Tried three different HDMI displays supporting audio, all three displays had the same issue.
- Grabed the official Ubuntu 14.04 distro (non KODI) same issue occurs. Also tried the 15.x non LTS Ubuntu, same issue.
- Tried inserting "options snd-hda-intel vid=8086 pid=8ca0 snoop=0" as per this article: http://askubuntu.com/questions/405071/st...hdmi-audio
I tracked down this kernel bug (http://www.spinics.net/lists/dri-devel/msg85506.html) Which seems to accurately describe my situation. It seems to be unresolved, and I cant seem to find any working workarounds.
Any advice? This seems like a pretty serious issue affecting anyone trying to use AMD cards....

Kobi videos won't play at full screen
So, I've been using my MXQ Android TV box for the last month & it's never had any problems
One day I turn it on & it starts playing movies full screen but only like half of my TV (Top Left corner)
Does anyone now how to fix this?
Kobi's full screen everything else is accept for when I go to play a video
Even the menu bar is at the bottom of my screen accept for the video being only half the TV

Music Video DB Issue, Windows Only, Central DB.
I run Kodi on my Windows desktop, Nexus Player and Nexus 9 all connected to a central MySQL DB.
When I open the music video library on my Android devices I get all my videos and I can hit "party mode" and start listen/watching.
When I open the music video library on my Windows desktop I get two issues; first up the some videos just show a "\" for the artist and when I try to hit "party mode" I get "Party mode aborted. No matching songs in the library".
Any idea where I should start? Is there a query in the Windows version that needs tweaking?

Skin Hiding Watched Without Option Selected
On my Nexus 9, the re-Touched skin is hiding watched videos without the option being selected.
My watched videos are hidden and there is nothing I can do to see them except switch back to the default, not-so-tablet-friendly, skin.

Does Kodi/AMlogic/AMC decode now do pullup correction 23.976>24fps ?
I've just been testing Firmware recently on an AMlogic S805, this firmware does not support the new AMlogic HPLL method of outputting 23.976 video content.
I have noticed that when using the recent Kodi Isengard RC3, and when the Android Media Codec (amc) is decoding 23.976fps content I now see Pullup correction pattern length of PC:1 in the codec window as well as amc-h264/h265. This is when the display is set at 24 or 60Hz and amcodec hardware acceleration is disabled. 23.976fps video sync displayed at 24Hz is now very good.
So the question being - is Kodi Isengard RC3 now doing pullup correction to speed up 23.976fps video to 24fps using a Video reference Clock ?
Kodi Helix did not exhibit this behaviour.

Sorry for what probably is a silly question, but when using TMM in a Linux environment and running the command line arguments, where is the datasource info stored (i.e. how does tmm know where to look for my movies)? Where are the settings kept that can be changed?

addons installed into wrong libdir
Building master from source with the rpm %configure macro will install kodi into the correct directories (/usr and /usr/lib64).
When building kodiplatform it goes into those directories as well, using:
However when building an addon such as pvr.demo the addons will endup in the wrong directory /usr/lib instead.
I'm sure this is not intentional.
It looks like /usr/lib64/kodi/addon-helpers.cmake has /lib hardcoded, if thats indeed the place that matters. But perhaps some variables are not initialized correctly.

Issue - Contant Alsa audio devices re-inititializing
Something is causing the audio device to rescan/re-initialise, imo far too often then it really needs to as its unlikely they will change no matter how many times they are re-triggered.

Audio Problem with mkv
Hello Forum,
for some time now (I think since the last update to openeElec 5.0.8, but I am not sure. Definetly NOT from start when I had 5.0.3) I have weird problems with my Raspi2 and Kodi.
1. Upon selecting a Video (mkv, mp4) it takes several seconds before anything happens on the screen. I can see the SD card light turn green constantly.
After 3-5s the video starts
2. While playing a video (most mkv files, some mp4) I have audio problems. Audio disappears for several seconds, then comes back, sometimes for half a second and then disappears again for some more seconds to finally come back. As if it tries to re-sync audio to video. This can be reproduced if I fast forward 30s or so.
Mpeg2 with the license is working fine.
Any ideas on this?
