Question on Music Library Export

Folks,

I have a question if the v 19 music library export will support what I would like to do.

My directory structure is like this:

MP3s
  |
  |---- Artist 1
  |         |
  |         |------ Album A
  |         |-------Album B
  |
  |---- Artist 2
  |         |
  |         |------ Album


(fyi:  I'm using confluence for my skin)

In the past, an export would copy the specific artist's folder.jpg and fanart.jpg to the specific artist's subdirectory.

Now it looks like the export of that info need to go into a separate dedicated folder where all artist info (folder.jpg, fanart.jpg and .nfo) go.  That is, if I chose the option to Export to Library Folders.

Is it still possible to have artist info go into the specific artist's subdirectories, and the album info into those folders under the artist name subdirectories?


Would the solution be to point the required Artist subdirectory to my folder called MP3s ?

If I do, will the creation of a folder overwrite my music?  Is the export smart enough to recognize that there is a folder there with that artist's name already?

hdr difference in kodi 18.9 and kodi 19.1, audio and image cuts in nvidia shield tv p

hi guys, my system :
nvidia shield tv pro
tv qled Samsung q70r
projector benq ht3550
avr denon s920w
with kodi matrix, when playing mkv 4k hdr dolby atmos from smb lan network, I have Cuts small audio and image cuts, so I decided to go back to kodi 18.9 lonque I solve all those problems, I do not know if it is paranoia mia, but now I see the 4k hdr with a little less image quality, this is possible? or it's just me, I don't know if the hdr of kodi 19 is better than the hdr of kodi 18.9, please if someone takes me out of these doubts... Thanks a lot

Network-attached security risk

I've tried searching and I know it is a highly circumstantial question, but ...

how concerned about security/malware/etc... would there be with a Raspberry Pi Kodi unit connected to a WiFi Windows LAN? I am considering pushing the issue of setting up a Kodi machine for someone to stream video files from their computer/network, but they are too hesitant to have any hookup of this system. I currently believe the risk is very little under these limited uses, but the sophistcation of systems, malicious software and desire has exceeded my common-person ability, exponentially and understand "never say never".

No analogue sound option in Kodi Matrix v19

Just updated yesterday and all of a sudden my sound has gone out.
I'm using HDMI out for the projector and analogue for the speakers.
Using OSMC on a Raspbi 3

tried the dtparam=audio=on in config.txt but in audio settings there is still only three HDMI output options for sound.

I guess I will have to rollback to the older version and wait for it to get fixed.

Hello, I just uploaded a debug log under number 1207004.
I Hope this is the correct way to do this.
Kodi is installed on a PI3B+ running BUSTER.

How to restore deleted TV menu item

Hi there.

I have a problem with my Kodi.
I removed the TV (Bulgarian TV) from the Kodi menu.
But it is installed.
Could you be so kind to let me know where can i find it and add the tv again in the menu so i can open the programs?

VSCode Snippets

Are you using VSCode to create your Kodi skin? If so read on......

Creating a Kodi skin involves a lot of repetitive typing and after typing the <top>, <left>, <width> and <height> tags for what seems like the thousanth time today I started looking in to VSCode snippets.

Here's an initial VSCode extension that adds a few common skinning snippets.

ktlwh - top, left, width, height tags
ktlbr - top, left, bottom, right tags
kcontl - Control with top, left
kcontlwh - Control with top, left, width, height
kcontlbr - Control with top, left, bottom, right
kvar - Variable definition

They can all be tab completed.

If anyone has any requests just let me know and I'll add them.

To install go to the Extensions panel in VSCode and press the 3 dots in the upper right corner, then "Install from VSIX"

XBOX series X- pass through not working

I am using KODI 18.9 on my Xbox series X. I have a Sony HTRT3 5.1 connected to my TV via an optical cable. Kodi however is not showing me any options for pass through of audio even though in the Xbox settings pass through is turned on. Please help me.

I use to be able to download file linked using Downloader but now it won't do it. I think the problem is I need to allow it to access media files but the trouble is even after a fresh install of Downloader I do not get that pop up option anymoreHuh

Remove search box from right edge of home screen

Hiya,

just upgraded my Vero 4K with OSMC’s August update which brought v19 to it. Since I’m a fan of Confluence and have been using it for about ten years now, I’d like to keep doing so even with v19. Most of the upgrade went smoothly. The only thing bugging me is this new search box on the right edge of the screen:

Is it possible to disable the new search box? No keyboard attached, so I have no use for it. I didn’t find an option in interface settings to hide it despite expert settings, and there’s no global search addon to remove/disable as suggested here because it’s not installed.

Any ideas?

Kodi 19.1 finds external nas folders but no files

Kodi 18.9 worked fine with my external nas for playing music and video on my android TV.
Upgraded to 19.1, kodi couldn't find my nas until I entered the ip address manually for smb server.
Kodi 19.1 finds folders ok but no files visible.
I've tried making hidden files visible and changing minimum smb to 1.
Still can't access music, video or picture files.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Basically, my mom has a raspberry pi device that has a wireless mouse connected to it. We have a video streaming service called Sosáč, we pay for a VIP membership to stream movies and TV shows regularly. However, the issue is that whenever she stopped using the mouse, the OSD (movie controls, pause, etc.) would disappear after a bit. Now the OSD doesn't go away at all, the cursor still disappears though.

Also, the |<< button always gets highlighted when I stop moving the mouse. I have tried updating the system, re-plugging the raspberry pi, tried a different mouse, changed batteries for the mouse... I feel like it's a software issue, but I'm not sure where to start. I don't really know my way around this program at all, I usually just handle the VIP payments for my mom. I don't even know how to get you guys any logs or anything because the device is connected to my mom's TV and I don't know how to make it work with my PC. Has anybody had the same issue, or has anybody had the same problem?

Please, be tolerant, I have no idea what to do and I'm writing this like 20 minutes after finding out about the problem. I virtually have no experience with this thing.

An error pops up "Embuary Helper Error" pretty much continuously while using Kodi

NFS sources not opening/being selected in Kodi after updating NAS with DSM7

I just upgraded my Synology NAS  to DSM7. Went fine.
All my movies are in Collections on my NAS like HDMovies1, HDMovies2 etc.
SMB and NFS services are enabled on the NAS as they were in DSM 6
However now I find that I cannot add an NFS source from my collecrions in Kodi ( I use Matrix). The sources are visible in NFS but do not open to be added.
SMB is working fine.
Apparently some setting change is required in NFS settings on the NAS or in Kodi
appreciate any help

I'm trying to build kodi Leia on fedora and I get a cmake error at configure:

Pass-through audio audio switching problems

But I noticed  very annoying problem, with Nvidia Shield, but this is about Kodi and I wouldn't know how to solve.

When I allow pass-through audio, (disabling synchronizes the sound to the image) and turn off the audio playback system (decoder amplifier) at night to listen to audio on TV, TV audio remains mute and l Image crashes.
To reactivate the feature with the TV I have to disable the pass-through, this is a very annoying thing when I have to switch from TV> HT system and vice versa.
In the old Box Andorid (Himedia) this was automatic, i would be very happy if there is a way to solve this problem.

IIRC there have been plans to add record label support for music in KODI, which is as essential as studio tags for movies and films…
But I cannot find it in 19.1 - am I missing something?

Problems with Digitally Imported playlists

Hello all, 

I'm a customer of Digitally Imported, and I download playlists from them to listen to with Kodi. I also combine the playlists from di.fm, Radiotunes and co as M3U, which I also listen to in Kodi. However, since a few months there are problems, when I select various channels, they are skipped - I sometimes need several attempts until I can hear the desired channel. Is this a problem with Kodi or with DI.fm? I have already contacted DI, they can't understand the problem. Does anyone have similar experiences?

GUI cropped to 1/4 on 4K

Hello,

I come to you with an already known problem on old Kodi releases. But despite reading a lot of thread and having try a lot of solutions, the problem is still occurring.

My actual configuration :
  • Kodi 19.1.0
  • Windows 10 21H1 64bits
  • Intel core i3-4130
  • 4GB of RAM
  • Graphic card Nvidia GT1030, drivers V471.68 => HDMI Pulse Eight => Yamaha RX-A3060 AVR => LG 55C1
  • Windows resolution is set to 3480x2160P @24Hz
  • Kodi resolution is set to 3480x2160P

Ok so the problem occur when I make a cold start (TV and AVR OFF). Windows starts, Laun4Kodi starts, Kodi starts, and start command is sent on CEC to start AVR and TV. When the TV turn ON, I can only see the top left quarter of the screen. The rest of the screen is black.
If I make a hard reset, all starts and works fine in 4K.
If I set all the stuff to 1080p, all starts and works fine.
I have an Ubuntu dual boot. On this, all starts and works fine in 4K. But as HDR is not available on Linux, I want to go on Windows.

I know this is probably due to the Windows temporary resolution at startup or wake up. On different threads that I have found, there is mainly 2 solutions for this :
  • Set High PPP behavior on "Application" on Kodi.exe
  • Change Windows default resolution to 3480x2160p in registry (with this link)
But no one of these solutions have worked.
I have also tested a lot of different settings in Kodi display category, but nothing worked.
May be what are working on Kodi 17 and 18 is not working anymore.

Could someone help me on this problem ?

No 4K, Atmos or HDR on Sony Bravia a80j

Hello,

I recently bought a Sony a80j with android 10. I thought this will support all the new stuff I needed (4K, HDR, Atmos) because I love cinema and have full home cinéma 5.1.2 Love
But, resolution is locked in 1080p, passthrough is activated but no dolby truehd available and I don't know how activate HDR if it's possible.

On htpc i have 4K and Atmos but no HDR (old graphic card).

Did I miss something like a new version available on store.
I have 19.1 version on Android 10 API level 29. Don't know if it's important Huh

Did I miss something?
