Kodi main screen not displayed all of a sudden

Had Kodi 18.7 running of my R4 for a while. I run it as a service. Yesterday on a reboot the Kodi main screen did not display. I heard the startup sound but no screen and the desktop is locked from any interaction. Its like its on another monitor but only have TV connected on HDMI .

Going through SSH do a sudo systemctl stop kodi.service and it stops and Desktop is released. Then do sudo systemctl start kodi.service and its start fine just as of old. It only screws up on boot

Hello, I’ve tried contacting you via Twitter email and telephone with no success. I’ve paid £40 for a fire stick nearly 3 weeks ago and have not had it delivered? Are they out of stock and if so can I please have a refund?

NAS Suggestion for Kodi on Nvidia shield pro and Mac compatible access

I am running Kodi 19.x on my Nvidia Shield Pro and I am quite happy with it.  My 6tb WD My Cloud decided to call it a day, so I am looking into getting a new file server.  the NAS should be able to read/write from MAC, LINUX and Windows systems.  I want to be able to read and write to the NAS and of course have the Shield stream the videos to the TV nicely.  I feel like Synology may be the way to go, but also think a RAID system may be unnecessary.   I guess 8tb or so would suffice.

What qualities should the Server have?  CPU, memory, access speeds for 4k video delivery, etc.  

is DNLA important on the file server for Kodi to work? I didn't get that impression in the past.

I need help accessing mysql outside the internal network

I installed mysql on windows 10 to sync between the kodi devices at home
And I have a TV at work where I also installed kodi and on the computer at home I installed ftp server and I manage to access the media,
How do I attach this kodi to sync with mysql at home?

Storing Artwork Locally

I realize that this has probably been asked a thousand times, but I can't seem to find an answer, so apologies in advance...

Because of the way my house is laid out, my Kodi PC connects connects wirelessly to the network, which isn't an issue when streaming movies and TV shows, but is VERY slow when pulling the associated artwork stored on my NAS. As a result, what I am trying to do is to store the artwork on an SSD in my PC, while the movies remain on the NAS. Is this sort of 'split storage' possible, and if so, how do I go about it?

Side effect of hiding the category widgets?

I would like to (only) hide the category widgets at the top of movies/TV shows main pages.

I can achieve that by turning off the "enable category widget" setting within "configure skin". However that also seem to have the "side effect" bringing up the category menu when I select the main menu items "movies" or "TV shows" (see screenshot). I would like that to be bypassed, and directly go into "Titles", which is what happened before disabling the category widgets.

I started having some major scraping problems after the Matrix update; it may or may not be related. I've gone through the "read first" troubleshooting post and reached the point where it suggested posting debug logs here.

A few things to note:
  1. I use Kodi on three different devices. 
  2. At one point I switched scrapers; not sure if mixing scrapers across multiple devices causes issues with .nfo files. Not even sure that Kodi creates them after scraping, but just in case.
  3. A few times I'd had (temporary) success by recursively removing .nfo files from all video folders.
  4. I did have multiple network folders contained in one video source for TV shows. I tried reducing it to just one folder for debugging, but to no avail.
  5. Tried manually creating a tvshow.nfo file for one show (Comedians in Cars); didn't fix the problem for that show.

Movie set posters

Hello!
I'm a new kodi user so maybe my probem is only an inadequate setting.
After kodi searched my movies and collected together to movie sets didn't download any poster for those. The individual movies have posters.
If I go in the manage/choose art then I can't find any poster. Of course I can choose one if I download manually and browse that.
The scraper is "The movie database python", artwork downloading is enabled.

Sort by appearances in smart playlist

In "Movies / Directors" you can use sort method "Name" or "Appearances".

In "edit smart playlist" if you chose "Group by" "Directors", "Appearance" does not exist in "Order by" list

I recently moved from Huawei to Samsung A32 but cannot find a way to add my internal storage on my device to pick up the videos saved there. Kodi Matrix does automatically pick up my memory card. Can someone help please.

Filter showing 128 as earliest show date

I'm seeing an issue where the filter function is picking up 128 as the earliest year for one of my shows.  (this makes it a pain when activating the filter as you have to press and hold to move the slider from 128 to the required year)

I've made sure that every show in my library has a valid date but I have noticed that Kodi is grouping all shows from 200x as a separate category of "200". (see below)

Can anyone help?

Kodi 19 Audio Dropouts on Shield Pro

Hello everyone,

I seem to be experiencing random occasional audio drops when watching movies. The audio drops out for a split second and recovers. I never noticed any audio drops on version 18.9. I have Kodi 19 on nVidia Shield TV Pro (2020) and the movies are stored on my computer and shared via SMB.

At first I thought it was simply the one movie I was watching. I had about 10 total audio drops throughout a 2.5 hour movie. The I started noticing it on other movies, including movies I had watched with no audio drops before. Interestingly enough, if I rewind to the point where the audio dropped out, it doesn't drop out again at the same spot. I My Audio is set to allow pass-through and the video setting "Sync playback to display" is set to "No". I've tried changing various settings but no success.

Any tips?

Movie Sets: Additional Information

I notice additional columns in Ember for Movie Sets. These columns mention items such as Fanart, Poster, ect. I don't see in Ember where I can add fanart or Poster art for individual movie sets.

Just curious about this.

after Upgrade to Matrix i'm unable to connect to my database.

I can't change the settings for the path to "movie", although the libary won't update.
(When i kill the file it works)

Kodi debug log not showing on Windows 10

I do not know where to post this problem - so I hope I am now awfully wrong here.
I created a Debug log on my Beelink GT1 mini box and uploaded it throug Kodi Logfile Uploader.
On my Windows 10 Machine I open the link https://paste.kodi.tv/OVIZUDURUF but it shows an empty site. I tested it with two Browsers Firefox and Edge.
When I open this link on my Smartphone via Opera Touch Browser it show the logfile.
What is wrong here, help appreciated.
