Video / Audio issues (freezes, speed-ups) on an Odroid with Coreelec

I had a working setup of an Odroid N2+ Coreelec Edition, which ran all my files and was quite happy with it.
I was away for a few days and when I wanted to watch an episode of West Wing yesterday I started to get playback problems with the video freezing, the audio being mute and playback resuming again being sped up and audio being there or not there at all? I've not experienced this problem, but somehow seem to have it now on all the files I tested.

I hope the log above sheds some light to what's going on. I'm posting here, because I think it should be a Kodi related problem and no hardware problem of my Odroid or my Synology NAS (used via NFS) because I never had problems like this in the past. So maybe some settings got mixed up? Not that I would know how!

Kodi 19 (Matrix) - full file-source in "information->refresh" missing

maybe I am wrong ...
... but in Kodi 18, I was able to see the full (very long) file-source (protocol+server-IP+directory-path+filename) at the bottom, when moving to "information"->"refresh"

in Kodi 19 I see something like
smb://192.168.0.3/kodi/.../.../.../matrix(1990)(720)(MPEG).mkv
but the "..." are hiding the information I need.

=> how do I display the full location/path+name of the stored file?

Memory leak & SIGTRAP with paused playback of H.264 content

Hi,

kodi crashes when x264 playback was kept too long in paused state.
Starting from a memory usage of ~660m (VSZ value displayed by top)
kodi adds around 1m/sec to around 1900m when it crashes.
To create the logs I used sample nr. 6 from the Kodi wiki:

Using sample nr. 11 (mpeg2) the memory usage does not increase.
I saw these crashes with locally stored H.264  files and H.264 streams,
but not with other codecs.
Hitting play again to end the paused-state does not release the increased
memory usage. Each pause state adds more memory being used by kodi
so the crash can only be prevented by not using pause at all.
Please note that this crash is not caused by oom, the system has
16gb ram with more than 10gb free.

Hello, I am Ziyuan Qu, a Junior student from the Northeastern University, China. You can call my English name, Quinton.
I'm interested in the Computer Graphics, and also familiar with C++ and Python. I wrote a small ping-pong game using basic system calls in linux, and I am implementing a program for Intelligent Diagnosis of Systemic lymphoma based on PET/CT Imaging Histology with Professor Huiyan Jiang.
I am a big fan of KODI, which is used for watching Blu-ray movies for many years. However, the HDR vision can only be activated on Sony tv. For I see there's an idea for high quality scalers for OpenGL(GLSL), I really wondering if it's possible to add original HDR support for Mac in this GSOC program. Could you give me some hint on which direction I should search for and which part of code I could look up to write a proposal on either of those two issues? Although it's a little late for now, I would like to try...

Video add on not appearing in repository

Hi,

I recently installed Kodi 19.0 Matrix on my Firestick 4k.  When I try to install add-on e.g. Magic Dragon, Crew etc., I run into problems.  The zip files download ok but in the repository there's no "video add-on" option.  Sometimes i get around this by carrying out manual updating after which, "video add-on" appears in the repository.  However, the video add-on does not contain the file for the actual add-on (like M Dragon, Crew etc) but only "Venom", which doesn't work.

Does anyone know what the issue is or what I am doing wrong please?  I use a VPN and tried with with the VPN both connected/disconnected.  Any help will be appreciated.

Portable Kodi needed running from a USB on multiple computers

Hi. I searched for some hours to find a way to assign a specific drive letter to my USB device or remounting it to a specific drive letter on windows so that my kodi TV Library isn't giving the error message of cannot find the content. I found a few tools but couldn't make them work for me. 

Folder structure: 
USB Device\Kodi (Installed onto USB)
USB Device\Media folder\TV Show (TV Shows are stored in their own series folders within TV Shows folder.)
USB Device\Kodi.ink (Shortcut to launch Kodi in portable mode)

I like to assign my USB and library to letter X: as this drive letter is rarely used on computers. Idea would be to be bale to have a media center that can be plugged into any windows computer at will and be able to play things from the library.

If there is a forum that i didn't find already covering this please let me know.

Movies causes Kodi 19 to crash immediately

I am on Official release Kodi 19. I am running it on two Macs, both latest Big Sur. On both, when I open Kodi and it scans for TV and Movies, all is well. I can go into TV Shows, I can go into Music, and Pictures, but the second I go into Movies, Kodi crashes.

This only started happening a few days ago, and hence I tried reverting to an older movie DB, and the result is still a crash when I go into Movies.

I can go directly to Recent Movies, Years Movies, etc., but when I click Movies itself, Kodi crashes.

This happens on all skins, and on both Macs.

Any suggestions?

Freeze within the UI of Matrix 19

Hello,

I've got a question about Kodi Matrix 19 (clean install). I use it on a Windows 10 System. There is a "freeze" within the UI when I jump out of my movie collection back to the root menu (with "ESC" on the keyboard).
There is also a freeze when I try to open the build-in File Explorer. The freeze has a duration about 10 seconds. I use the prefered skin an no addition addon.
I used the 64 bit setup file from the download section and also the App in the microsoft app store. No difference about the freeze between each other.
After a fresh start of Kodi there is no "freeze" at the beginning when I jump back to the root menu or into the file explorer. But after a short time the freeze is there.
In my opinion there is a problem with the update of my file system in the background.

There is no freeze when I use the 18.9 Version and do the same things after a clean install on the same system.

Does anyone have a idea what could be the problem?

Music file played history

Kodi adds a checkmark on the played video files, even without including a folder containing video files in the Kodi library/repository. But there apparently is no such functionality for music files.

This would be a very useful feature, any way to enable this through an add-on, or some other way? Thanks.

Missing channel logos

Hello manuelm,
since some time i notice that some (in my case three) channel logos does not appear in Kodi but are shown correct in DVBViewer and Web Service from Media Server. I tried everything i could like new Kodi v19, v20 alpha installs, change the logos in DVBViewer and Media Server but nothing. Do you have an idea what to do to get the logos back again?
PS: Do you know why i do not get latest Matrix version update message to 7.3.0? Kodi Repos shows only 7.2.0.

No Limits Magic on Matrix

Hi, I am a fan of No Limits Magic but since I updated Kodi to 19 Matrix No Limits Magic has stopped working. Any Ideas on installing it or something that is comparable.

TV episode-specific cast info?

Maybe I'm missing a setting someplace.  Is there a way to get one of the scrapers to populate TV episode-specific cast information?  All my episodes show the generic recurring cast members, even if there is additional info or pics on guest stars.

KODI 19 Problem with HDR 1080p

Hi.
I Have another problem. Using MiniX U9-H with KODI 19 Matrix.
I won't get HDR on 1080p files. The Movie Player in MiniX playing video 1080p HDR with no problem.
Trying, everything else in Display Settings (U9-H) : HDR to SDR, but no luck.
4K HDR files are fine.
VLC, also HDR it won't work.
With older version of KODI, I have no issue.

LIbCEC addon on kodi 19 [Debian]

Kodi 18 from the raspian repository had an addon to integrate with libcec,

since upgrading to 19 from the debian repository, I still have libcec & cecutils installed, but Kodi doesn't pick up cec inputs, I assume this is because I'm missing the kodi addon for this input, is this something I can get from a different distro? or do i need to compile xbmc.

Kodi v20 Problems & Feedback

Not sure which thread to post in so feel free to move if needed.

@sualfred @rmrector (not sure if you are the correct developers or if you can pass this on) 

Using v20, I get two addon pop-up errors re: Embuary Helper and Artist Slideshow.  Also, the Kodi log file updater is not compatible yet either.  Thought perhaps you could have a look.  Thank you.

Edit addon settings through chorus

I want to copy and paste a token from my laptop to kodi
However i thought using chorus, but it seems i cannot do that?
Is it possible to edit the settings of an addon through the webinterface?
I can only launch the addon (executable) but it cant launch cause i need to edit settings first Smile

TMDB scraper (still) scraping fanart only for set language

Hello,

a while ago there was a thread somewhere here on this forum where several users had an issue that the TMDB scraper only displayed fanart for the language that was set in the scrapers settings. This was not always the case. Previous versions always offered posters of all languages. The discussion continued until one of the developers stepped in and agreed that the behaviour has changed. He also reverted this change back and provided a GitHub link to the fixed version that again offered all posters of all languages for a movie. He said to either install the module from his link manually or to wait until this is pushed to the Kodi repositories and update through Kodi.

Now, my problem is: unfortunately I can't find this thread anymore to check again (sorry). And second, I've now waited for a couple of weeks because I didn't want to install anything manually because I was affraid to break something. I've checked every once in a while for a update but until today nothing has changed.

Is somebody familiar with this issue?

I am using LibreElec 9.2.6 (Leia 18.9). And the TMDB Scrarper shows the version 5.3.6.

Just to clarify what my problem is. For example the movie Halloween 2. My Fanart selection is limited to this single poster: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/11281-h...anguage=de
But I would like to be able to select any poster of any language (in most cases Englisch) from the full selection of 81 posters.

Filter showing 128 as earliest show date

I'm seeing an issue where the filter function is picking up 128 as the earliest year for one of my shows.  (this makes it a pain when activating the filter as you have to press and hold to move the slider from 128 to the required year)

I've made sure that every show in my library has a valid date but I have noticed that Kodi is grouping all shows from 200x as a separate category of "200". (see below)

Can anyone help?
