Issue with Raspberry Pi 400

Hello!  I've been playing around with Kodi on a Raspberry Pi 4 in various guises.

I have a USB-3 SSD which boots to Twister OS and I have Kodi installed with plugins for emby and IPTV.  I'd also been playing around with a mSD running LibreELEC and Kodi doing pretty much the same thing.  They were both running Leia, but I can't remember exactly which version.

I managed to pick up a Pi 400 and assumed I could just connect the SSD or mSD and it would work in the same way, but when I start Kodi on Twister OS I get a black screen with the small white flashing cursor in the top left corner and the only way I can find to escape that is a power-cycle.

The mSD with LibreELEC won't even boot.

Anyone else had similar problems with a Pi 400?  Thanks

Hello,

I am running LibreElect 9.2.6 (Kodi 18.9) and have a problem to add my stub files of "Game of Thrones". This worked fine in the past but after a reset I cannot at the stubs again.

The folder structure is ok and also the files are named propably. But if I check the logfile I can see, that there seems a problem with a SQL statement.

The database is stored on a MariaDB server. Any ideas?

Rsndomize movie/show poster

Is it possible to have multiple movie poster and show a random one each time? Sort of like how netflix will have multiple movie posters and show a different one.

I know netflix uses and algorithm to determine which one it will show. I just want to know if its possible to randomize.

Kodi on Android TV in network settings shows the wrong gateway address

When displaying the Kodi system_info network settings, it  reports the Gateway IP address as an incorrect IPV4 address of 254.128.0.0. The IPV4 gateway address should be the typical address of 192.168.1.1 as all the other network devices report (provided by DHCP) in the network.

This occurs only when IPV6 is enabled on Android TV OS (Nvidia Shield) and also is enabled on the home Router. Note, Kodi only reports IPV4 addresses in the System_info/Network and not IPV6 addresses. Turning off IPV6 on Android TV or on the home router resolves this incorrect reporting of the gateway address.

The IPV6 Gateway address served by the home router begins with fe80 which when converted to decimal converts to 254 and 128. Seems possibly an error ( or coincidently) recognizing a IPV6 gateway address and tries incorrectly to convert to IPv4 address?

Unable to play DVD or blue-ray files from library

Hi,,
i just upgraded from Kodi 17 to kodi 18.9.
I noticed that since the upgrade I'm not able to play DVD or Blu-ray files anymore by going to Movies, selecting a movie and cklick that movie. If I choose info (context menu) and then play, the movies plays
Little nuance: If the DVD is an ISO file I am able to play it. If it is a collection of files in VIDEO_TS, the movie won't play. For Blu-rays it's not playing at all. Except if I use the before mentioned work-around.

I have this behaviour on Kodi for Windows, but also Kodi on th ePi (LibreElec)

I'm using a central DB (MariaDB) on a Synology NAS, but I also tried to store the DB local with the same result.
Videofiles are stored on the NAS; also tried storing video files local (Windows); same result.

Skin Editing

Hi everyone. Hoping there is an easy mod for this.

I have edited the Amber skin to look the way I want but there are 2 things currently in my way.

I need to make it so widgets appear on top of everything. Is this possible. The reason I am going for this is because the widgets are currently hidden behind a part of my vertical menu image.

Also I want a preview window on the home menu, so whatever is playing is visible as a preview?

Any tips on what xml files need editing and what to add or change?

Free Pop Player passthrough

Hello,

I am a french user who has been using Kodi for many years with great satisfaction.

Recently I have been using a new Android TV box, the "Free Pop Player", provided by (one of) the most important Internet Providers in France.
My problem is therefore that of thousands and thousands of users at the moment.

The problem is that this box only gives stereo sound, even when you force the passthrough mode.
With most applications, not just Kodi.
However, some applications, such as Netflix or Prime Video, do not have this problem.

I've been browsing a few topics in this forum that seem to deal with a similar subject.

I understood that shitty builds were a way to get around the fact that Android was poorly implemented in the hardware.

I'd like to help the firmware developers by showing them the very technical topics that can be found here, maybe put them in direct contact with @fritsch so that they understand what they're doing wrong.

But before I do that, I would like to make sure that my problem is the exact same problem that is detailed in

Fedora 33 - What were they thinking

So I just updated to Fedora 33 only to find that they decided to ship an alpha version of Kodi 19. This seems like a bad idea at the best of times, but it's even worse in this release because of the Python transition, which means lots of plugins are still missing.

Luckily I managed to coble together a 18.9 installation using packages from the F32 repositories.

Let this be a warning to people running Kodi on Fedora: hold off on updating to F33 until Kodi 19 is usable.

Full subtitle instead of forced subtitle

Hi,

I am using kodi with automatic settings for English audio and French subtitle. However, when there are two French subtitle, the full one and the forced one, the default is the forced subtitle which doesn't contain all texts...

Do you have any idea how to solve that?

Alpha3 crash building Thumbnails

(19.0-ALPHA3 (18.9.730) Git:20201111-b5871f5c48) Ubuntu 20.04

I have a library of ~3,000 movies in various formats. If you clear your thumbnail cache (userdata/Thumbnails), start kodi, then navigate to a large playlist/file directory/all movies, then Kodi abruptly crashes. The log indicates that it is building Thumbnails. You can find log files at:

I discovered this when I navigated to a folder that had only movie trailers in it and the folder was marked with None type. I was able to reproduce using the above steps going to any movie folder. This problem has existed for at least several months. Only now have I taken the time to reliably reproduce it.

Does Android support playback speed alternation through PlayerControl(tempoup) keys?

I read about Kodi 17 supports increasing/decreasing video playback speed through binding keys to: PlayerControl(tempoup) and PlayerControl(tempodown).

I tried using Yatse remote for android to create a "Call built-in" Custom Command but didn't work.
I tried 18.9 and 19.0 versions btw.

Just need to confirm if Android version still supports playback speed alternation through PlayerControl(tempoup) keys.

Aeon MQ 7 for Kodi v19 "Matrix"

The skin is available via my Matrix repo located at https://holybid.com/kodi/repo/matrix.

There are some areas that are not functional yet...still waiting on some Add-ons to be updated for Matrix.

Thanks to @melons2 for beta testing!

A few notes...
  • The skin includes the latest updates that were posted in the Aeon MQ 7 Leia Mod thread.
  • The skin will import a handful of Add-ons from my repo (and the Kodi repo) as it installs.
  • One of them is the Skin Helper Colorpicker. In order to use this in Skin Settings, you will also need to install the new Skin Helper Service...read next bullet.
  • Before installing the Skin Helper Service, install my repo as well as the newest version of the Cherrypy script.
  • The Skin Helper Service is not 100% yet...it continues to be updated for Matrix.
  • I'm still working on a Matrix version of the Library Editor script.
  • TVTunes for Matrix is available on my repo. There is still a problem with the video themes not stopping once they begin to play and you select another Movie.
  • The Video Info screen will now display Sets info. There is still room for improvement with this new feature of the skin.

Problems with Dolby Digital Plus (DD+ / EAC3)

Hi guys,

since a few days my setup gives me no audio for video files with an EAC3 track.

This is my HTPC setup:
AMD Ryzen 3 3200G with Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.11.1, but I have also tried Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.9.1 with no effect on the issue
Asus Prime B450-Plus, Bios 2202
16GB Ram
Win10 20H2
Kodi v18.9
The HTPC is connected via HDMI to my AVR (Pioneer SC-LX77), AVR connected via HDMI to my TV (Toshiba 55-ZL1G).

Whenever I play a video file with an EAC3 audio track the AVR just starts flickering on the FR and FL audio channels but I can't hear anything. Video on the TV will be displayed just fine (no stuttering).
If I play the same file not on Kodi but via Windows Movie App, VLC etc. everything works as it should. The AVR receives the correct bitstream and I hear the expected audio.
All other audio formats (AC3, DTS, DTSHD etc.) are playing fine via Kodi, also HD audio formats, just EAC3 is not working.
All of this was working fine a few days ago but stopped working from one day to another. After the issue occured I updated the AMD Catalyst driver but that had no effect.

Netflix Movie Hub

I'm trying to display more than 10 movies on the poster wall for the Netflix Movie Hub. It's currently only showing 10 movies and then "show more" as the 11th option. How can I get it to show all my movies?

Fanart issue

Hi Kodi brothers :-) 

I'm facing a strange  problem 

Some of my film lost their fanart, when i pass on, a black fanart appear on screen. For the black fanart film i have test by files (not by database) and when i go on the film, this time the fanart appear. 

For a black fanart film if i reload it from internet ir's ok, the fanart began correct. But i lose my saga (or collection in my case). And i have so much.... 

Do somebody know why i lose fanart ? 

(I'm on Kodi 18.9 on a PI4).
