Yeelight, problems with testing mode...

Hi.

I have the yeelight app on the pc. I have the yeelight app on my smartphone. The bulb works in smarthome, lan-control is activ. The kodi app finds the bulb. Everything should work but I can't run a test - as you can the on the attached picture. 

Hope, someone can help me.

As always, I'm still working on code, but I wanted to get this out today in time for the AEW Pre-show. You should be able to watch by clicking the AEW section and then Live, and it should have the Pre-show stream around 7PM EST today (May 25th)

Other than that, there are several different Independent Wrestling Promotions on the add-on. 

Like my other add-on, this uses free Youtube content. If you know of a wrestling promotion that has content on Youtube, please comment below (with a link to it if possible) and I'll try to add it. I tried to concentrate on promotions that had full shows available (with the exception of AEW since thats the big deal today)

All of the code is hosted on github, so if anyone wants to polish it, feel free, just give me some credit for the initial idea.

Only 15 Addons Shown?

I'm setting up a Kodi box for my stepdaughter, added about 25 video addons from the Kodi repo, and notice that only 15 (I think) are shown in the videos section of the addons menu. The rest are installed, and work correctly, I just have to go to "My Addons / Video Addons" to find them. Only the 15 latest-used show up on the addons menu.

Is this normal? Is there a setting for it?

Just trying make it easy for a noob to explore the addons...

MKV Tag Options

On Video_file_tagging (wiki), it describes an option for including tag data for Kodi inside the file. I have a file tagging app (MetaX for Windows) and am looking to implement this, but want to make sure I do it correctly.  In the Matroska specification it describes an attachments element, with an attachment sub-element that has properties of the file data, a file description, a filename, a file mimetype and a file UID.  Is there anything specific I need to set these values to (specifically the mimetype)?  I understand the data should be the same as the .nfo file, correct?

If there were an example MKV file with this data set, that would be great.

I have a TEAC AD800 which has a USB port to record CDs or cassettes to a flash drive. Have been informed that Kodi has a means of enabling my Macbook Air to emulate a flash drive.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

Android - Amlogic 912 Questions on DRM and 50Hz

I have a Tanix TX9 Pro box with Android 7.12 attached to a Samsung NU7100 series TV. This box has a 912 AmLogic CPU. It came with a version of Kodi 17 that worked very well until I came up against some DRM issues on Australian FTA. After some reading I decided to update to Kodi 18.2 to get the DRM ability knowing that the resolution switching would be lost. The loss of switching is not an issue as I am only interested in 50hz content.

After installing 18.2 I see that the DRM issue has indeed been solved but I am stuck with a Whitelist with only 1920x1080 60Hz. There is no option to add to the Whitelist, either. It seems that in my research I misunderstood the ability with no switching. I thought I could choose a single resolution and stick with it, but it seems that is not the case. To remedy this I have tried to edit GUIsettings.XML whitelist and resolutions to 1920x1080 50 Hz while having the TV box set to a 3840x2160 50Hz or 1920 x 1080 50Hz resolution and Kodi still starts with the GUI Whitelist showing 1920x1080 60Hz. So They Whitelist data must be overriding the GUIsettings.xml or that data is stored in more than one location.

So I have a couple of questions:

1. I see that the whitelist gui resolution is white font. If I click on it it becomes green font... What is the significance of this font colour change?
2. I am happy with the box in general. Having said that, can anyone offer me a solution to have either 1920x1080 or 3840x2160 50HZ and DRM working? If I need to go back to a previous Kodi install, I am happy to do that.

ArgusTV not working on anything after 16.2

Hi everyone,

I have been trying sometime to upgrade to Kodi 17+ but for some reason I cannot get the ArgusTV addon to work. It will be able to see the channel data and the EPG but loading many times will not show a picture. Although kodi thinks it is playing something. 
These are the things that I have made sure I have done:

1. Configured the addon correctly, IP address to backend with user/pass
2. Added the Timeshift and Recordings folder in File Manager
3. Played around with the hardware acceleration

I had it working in 17.6 for quite some time but then I performed and upgrade to 18.2 and once I reverted back to 17.6 it still has issues. Playing around with the hardware acceleration will at least get it to show a picture but after a few seconds it will freeze. I do notice that it seems to be able to play the SD streams okay but has some challenges with anything "HD".

What am I missing here? I am pretty sure that many people have it working. I'm just not sure what piece i need to configure. Your help would be greatly appreciated. This happens on my Android box as well as say X86 platform running OpenElec. No matter what I have issues with it just showing a blank screen or freezing right after it loads a picture.

NextPVR codec problem with Android TV frontend ???

I have been puzzling over a somewhat minor, but rather irritating problem, with an nPVR frontend/backend setup.

The nPVR backend is installed on in intel NUC running Win 10. It works perfectly with an nPVR frontend installed in Kodi in Win 10 on a desktop PC.

However, when I connect to the server from Kodi nPVR frontends running on Android TV boxes, and also an Amazon Fire Stick TV, the channel videos in one particular DVB-T group are compressed horizontally to around 2/3 of the screen width. 

As I said, it is minor, I can still watch OK - but it is still irritating. Can anyone one give me some clue? Could it be a codec issue? And why does it only affect one channel group (out of 5)?

*NEW Downloaded* Video will not play unless folder Re-Shared

I'm running KODI v18.2 "leia" I switched from uTorrent to qBittorrent w/ Filebot and now when I download a *NEW* movie/tv show it shows in the correct folder and once I go to it in KODI and select it to play, nothing happens with NO ERRORS. The file just won't play.

However once I go to the sub-folder on my PC and Re-Share it (The main folder has already been shared) I can go into KODI and play it no problem. 

What gives?

When I was on uTorrent w/ Filebot it worked seamless. 

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Beelink GT-King

Beelink recently released a new tv-box, the Beelink GT-King.
The GT-King seems really interesting, if you look at the hardware it is the first tv-box using Amlogic S922X to hit the market.

Another aspect I think is equally interesting is that Beelink's has expressed their intention to open-source the tv-box by releasing a lot of information, including source code SDK. Beelink announcement (SDK link currently broken)

What consequences could come from making the tv-box open source?
I'm no expert but I would imagine that the possibilities to further develop and improve the tv-box would be extensive if it's open source.

BINGIE / Hide submenu

hi,

Using the BINGIE layout, I'd like to hide submenus because I use some widgets with the option "Use submenu as widget".
Then, my menu items are accessible in the widget.
So, it is not uselly to have submenu in the same time.

Is there an option to do this ?

I saw in an another titan fork an option to "hide all submenus", but I don't want this.
I want to hide submenus one by one, because I want to keep some ones.

Dolby Atmos buggy in Kodi on Nvidia Shield TV

I've been using Kodi succesfully ever since it was XBMC. I never had to ask a question. Everything just worked.

However I recenlty upgraded my home theater system and added Dolby Atmos. Now I'm having a problem that I can't seem to solve on my own.

My hardware consists of:
TV: LG OLED 65B8PLA
Mediadevice: Nvidia Shield TV (2017)
Receiver: Onkyo TX-NR676

The problem I have is the following: Whenever I play a movie/clip with Atmos sound, the sound does work. My receiver recognizes it as being Atmos and sound is coming from my speakers. However 2 times out of 3 the channels aren't placed correctly. Sometimes the audio that is supposed to come out of the center channel comes out of the left surround speaker, the atmos info comes out of the right front speaker, surround comes out of one of the Atmos speakers,... It's all messed up. When I restart the movie/demo sometimes it fixes itself, sometimes it doesn't. There are times I have to restart a video 3 or 4 times to get the sound to play correctly.

One demo, Dolby Nature's Fury, downloaded from Demo-World.eu never seems to work in Kodi. The channels are always messed up I redownloaded it with the same result. I thought it was a corrupt file but then I played it with VLC and in VLC it works just fine.

I have set everything to passthru in Kodi and the Shield is set to Automatic surround (tried "Always" but results are the same).

Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction here?

Android - Kodi stops playing

Hello!
First of all, I'm sorry for my bad English-speaking, it isn't my first language.
Here is my problem: on my Android box, Kodi 18.2 player stops playing TV Shows episodes after a few minutes. After I restart, the same's happens, so. I have to restart playing the episode several times in order to see it entirely!
Any help?!

Python error in qobuz plugin

Hi,

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question, please redirect if necessary. I am running kodi v19 nightly on ubuntu 16.04, updated very regularly. Since 2-3 days ago qobuz plugin stopped loading, throwing an error. Python trace would differ depending on the version of plugin I tried, but basically it boils down to KeyError exception triggered by the following function:

def lang(langId):

    s = config.app.addon.getLocalizedString(langId)

    if not s:

        raise KeyError(langId)

    return s

langId parameter is basically an index into a xml schema resources/language/English/strings.xml and this is not caused by issues such as non-existent indexes etc. Qobuz plugin has not been modified for at least 1 year. I tried the official plugin 1.2.3 and dev version 1.3.3 and it is essentially the same error. If I revert kodi version to git20190520 everything starts working fine. So it is clearly some update to getLocalizedString causing this.

Could somebody please help with an explanation? Is it due to this commit 16119 (PR) ? If it is, could you please provide a pointer how the function above should be modified? qobuz plugin seems orphaned, but I could go and create a fork.

Passthrough audio issues on Minix Neo-U1

Hello,

I have had my Minix Neo-U1 for about 2 years, and I have just recently started to have issues with passthrough audio when I enable all of the passthrough options under Expert Mode.

I have a 7.1 channel Atmos receiver and when I select passthrough on and enable all of the receivers, the movie will either have no sound, or the audio and video will both stutter.

As soon as I reset the settings and turn it all off, it works just fine.

I also cannot, for whatever reason, choose more than 2.0 channels in the audio settings for Kodi. If I do (ie, 7.1), then there won’t be any sound.

I have a standard Denon 7.1 ch Atmos enabled receiver and have never had issues prior to a few months ago.

I am not sure what to do. I’ve reset my Minix to factory settings, I’ve done the same for Kodi, etc.

Android - Management avi format and Kodi Leia 18.2 on Android TV

Good evening everyone,

Some time ago I changed my TV + media player with a 4K Android TV. My source is a Syno NAS.

I have all my old movies avi (xvid / divx) in SD (480 or 540p) and when I read them with kodi I have slight jerk video (light but constant) and the sound that shifts over the movie is read ...

No problem with my movies em mkv (x264 and x265) no matter the resolution (a full 4k 130 GB no problem). No problem also with sd movies in mp4.

If I read my films from the integrated video application (always using my syno as a source), no problem either, so it's Kodi who has trouble with the avi!

The sound that is shifted is usually mp3 or ac3.

Is there a solution to correct this kind of problem?

missing 720p and 1080p

hi there,

i run kodi19 and i did not play android due exams for 2 months 

now I 'm having this problem when I choose stream it doesn't work because 720p/1080p don't come on with the stream.How can i solve this situation  i can't solve it.

someone can tell me if this problem is from the box or from my internet ?

BINGE - Custom Start Menu

When, I boot up my device. It goes to the default home menu. I am wondering, how could I make it so when my device boots up it doesn't go to the home screen menu instead it goes into my TV Show Source, that is on my External Hard Drive. I checked inside of the settings about Custom Startup Menu, but there isn't a option for select custom. Could someone please, help me.
