Accessing folders in KODI
Hello,
Probably another newbie question from my side !!!
Is there an easy way to access the System Folders from KODI, for example the "Userdata" folder.
Because i wanna make use of an external player so i need to drop a playercorefactory.xml file in the userdata folder.
Can i access it from my windows PC ?
I tried WinSCP and when i try to connect using the ip_address + Port (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080) i got an access Denied !!
Can someone help me out here please ?

[DUPLICATE] Ultrawide (21:9), pillarboxing and subtitles
Hi!
KODI works fine in on my Ultrawide monitor (~21:9, 3440x1440). But if watching 16:9 or even 4:3 content with subtitles, the subtitles will be stretched for the width of the whole screen. This is not ideal, since the text looks... awkward, while readable.
Subtitles are / were often typeset (if that is the right word?) for a certain width, which is usually the width of the content. That's why I don't think this is ideal behavior. Also, I can't find any setting to control the width subtitles are stretched into. Is this possible somehow?
More generally, it makes sense to position subtitles in relation to the edges of the screen if the content is letterboxed (since the subtitle will be less intrusive if it is on the letterboxed area), but this assumption does not work if the monitor is wider than the content. This assumption does work generally fine on 16:9 (or 16:10 and 4:3) aspect ratios, but not for wider displays. I believe stretching 4:3 -> 16:9 for subtitles is not that noticeable, and text spannig whole of 16:9 is easy to read ... but text spannig the whole width of 21:9 becomes cumbersome to read! There are controls for controlling subtitles position in vertical direction only, as far as I can find.
I tried a workaround: I set my resolution (in KODI) to a 16:9 one (not ideal if watching content in a wider aspect ratio, but in theory should work better for 4:3 and 16:9 content, and I was planning on switching manually). But that didn't work, as KODI still assumes my display is 21:9 and everything is squished horizontally - although my monitor is set to "original" (i.e. it does no scaling / stretching). Of course I could set my monitor to stretch, but that's pointless since I was trying to work around this issue in the first place... but perhaps there is somewhere a display aspect ratio / PAR override switch? I couldn't find any, though.

Android - Leia 18 auto-updated on my NVidia Shield and now I can't launch (freeze on startup)
So, Kodi was automatically updated to Leia, and won't launch anymore. I'm stuck on the launch screen every time. I'm using a remote database on my LAN to sync two Kodi players.

Easier way to find new TV Shows
Hi all,
I currently manually scrape all my content. When I do a library update it is easy to find new movies as I can just sort the list using the NFO button. With the TV Shows this isn't possible as the NFO check mark shows up if the series has been scraped.
Is there any shortcut to list new episodes?

Mythv very bad jitter on one machine in home only.
Recently upgraded my living room htpc to Ubuntu 18.04. Live tv is unwatchable. Stutters, audio out of sync, screen looks washed out occasionally.
I'm fairly certain this isn't a mythtv problem or storage issue as my htpc in the bedroom is working just fine. Wife watched tv in there before bed last night for over an hour, not a single problem.
Ubuntu 18.04 LTS 64bit. Kodi 18 Leia from the ppa.

Auto add smart playlist to queue
Since I moved from MediaMonkey to Kodi I have been missing MM![Confused]( "Confused")
Auto-DJ function. When the last audio track in the queue starts playing, five new tracks are added at the end of the queue, so that the music never ends. These five (or n) tracks is chosen on special premises, exactly like a Smart playlist.
For example: As the last track is starting, the five least played tracks from the music library is added at the end.
I'm looking for a way to implement this on my Kodi installation on OSMC (RPi2). Perhaps I can make use of the Kodi Callbacks addOn, using the onQueueNextItem event? I guess I can trigger a Python script, but I can't figure out how the script should look and where it should be placed in the file system.
I found that maybe the xbmc library could be used... XBMCAddon::xbmc:![Tongue]( "Tongue")

Android - Kodi 18 own Fork
Hello guys... I had a own fork from Kodi 17.6 ... It was easy .. decompile with apktool and change the splash screen and recompile with apktool .. sign the APK and it's works.
But with Kodi 18 it's not work. Can everybody help me to change the splash screen and put my own wizard ?

problem with menu kodi
hei everyone,
i have just upated kodi (from 17.6 to 18) on my android tv box (xiami mi box 3)
when i run it, i can't move from the menu, it stuck on the "movies" tab
kodi 17.6 always worked fine
how can i fix it?
i already tried installing the older version (impossible to install) and clearing cache and data

kodi cannot/will not login to tvheadend, anon works fine
Hi, I'm having issues getting a Kodi install (Kodi 17 I believe, installed from OS repo) on Devuan Ascii (Debian based distro) to work properly against TVHeadend 4.2.8-4~g9f7ab681a.
The only plugin I have in kodi is the pvr-hts plugin.
With an anonymous account set up in TVH everything works fine. if I delete the anonymous account, it breaks. The user/password provided in Kodi pvr-hts config is valid and works to access the TVHeadend webui, but when I enable the pvr-hts plugin with no anonymous account in TVHeadend, I immediately get 'access denied' in Kodi, sometimes followed by 'the server did not respond properly'. I can't find any logs or errors on the TVH end.
If there's an anonymous account set in TVHeadend, Kodi apparently ignores the given user account and silently uses the anonymous one.
I'm putting this here because I believe it's a Kodi issue, due to the user account in question working fine on the TVH webui.

External Drive not showing on add videos section.
Hello,
Im new here and im not very good at this things but i have a problem on my android tv box that doesnt happens on my mac on my kodi.
Im trying ti had somme videos to my library on kodi and i dont find the external drive option, only my external storage (with is in fact the internal storage of my box).
I dont have that problem with my mac, can anyone help me? I hope i make my self clear. Im on kodi 18.
On my android file explorer im able to see the disks (except for exfat) but not in kodi add videos?
Anyone can tell me too how to make visible exfat disks on android boxes too?

Bug - Cover Art not shown in Fullscreen mode

first of all I have to say that I love the design of Pellucid. I would like to use the skin as my new default.
While testing, i discovered that the Cover Art in Music mode is not always shown correctly. If I browse to an album or a playlist and hit "enter" on a track and switch to fullscreen (now playing) mode, everything is fine. But when i go back, hit backspace multiple times until I am back in the main menu and then press Tab to switch to fullscreen mode, the default cover is shown (double eighth note) - not that in the file.
To be sue the image in the Tags is readable, i tested this also on Estuary skin - no problem there.

v18 - Now Playing menu for music missing?
Hello,
while testing the skin I was not able to get the "now playing" menu while music playback, so you can seek or enable/disable shuffle. Do i have to press a special key for it? In TV mode, a menu is displayed on the right while playback.
I refer to the controls you can see in the default estuary skin like in the screenshot on the lower edge:

wrap list zoom coordinates
Trying to put together a simple wraplist that zooms on the focused item. I've pretty much got it figured out. However, I can't seem to get the x-coordinate straight for this. Note: I've put "0" in for lack of anything better.

Kodi V18 sluggish video
Hi,
So im having some strange activity going on with the latest version of Kodi. Video Stream from Tvheadend is sluggish although the FPS is at 59.99? I have a Raspberry Pi with the same problem. The sluggish video also happens but v16 and 17 has no issues with sluggish video. Its annoying. My workstation has a 1050 in running Ubuntu 16.04 with Kodi 18 and the problem is not there. Only seems to be with HD2000 also HD4000 on my laptop has the same with. Any ideas? Movies are fine and so are HD Channels just SD channels have this problem.

v18 - No movie information update
Hi.
After installing v18 I have the problem that Kodi does not update information about picture size, sound format etc. when updating a movie file. For example I have an older TV record and overwrite it with a new BD rip, the information in Kodi is not updated (even when playing the movie) while playing in the information popup shows the correct information (1080p etc.) but not in the front end - it is still stuck with 480p. This workes in v17 without problems. Now the new copied video always shows the old information. Anybody an idea?

1 Server and 5 Kodis
Hi all,
I've got a media server (Windows/Flexraid) and then I've got 5 Kodis around the house on 5 computers (Windows PCs) all accessing the media server. I would like all 5 Kodis to look and act the same. Instead of running around and configuring each Kodi separately, is there a way to configure 1 Kodi and then cut and paste to the other 4 Kodis so that they are the same? Or is there a special way of setting things up to accomplish this?

Kodi 18 does not save position in my In Progress videos
It happened when I upgraded on my Shield from 17.6 to 18.0, using the APK downloaded from Kodi site.
After a few days of unsuccessful attempts to rectify I uninstalled and went back to Krypton. Got the same problem with the Error Message "Watched Status Toolbox Error".
I disabled the addon and thus far (one day) all is fine (video is saving last position).
Is there a way to rectify this error? I thought this add on saved my stopped position. Now how does Kodi save the position?

Show games on Estuary home screen?
EDIT: I just noticed there are Games Library addons. Please disregard this post as I had not tried any of those.

I've installed the FCEUMM addon and it works great, however my Estuary home screen doesn't show any items in the Game section-- it just shows the default message about installing addons. Is there any way to have it display anything on the home screen? I can Favorite individual ROMs but then they just all get mixed in with Favorites.
