Extrafanart files number sequencing
The Kodi wiki says that extra fanart contained in the extrafanart folder should be named fanart0.jpg, fanart1.jpg, fanart2.jpg. And that is how I have been doing it when I manually add my own extra fan art.
But MediaElch (which I just started using) names the files starting with fanart1.jpg, fanart2.jpg, fanart3.jpg.
Does it matter whether you start with 0 or 1?
Also, is there a list of skins that support extrafanart for music?

h265 on Amazon Fire TV Stick
Hi guys, I've several h265 videos that play well on my Amazon Stick.
However, every now and then, I download some that aren't reproduced correctly. It's like Kodi only recognizes the audio tracks, so I have the reprodution starting with a small play icon on the top right part on the screen. The file seems ok, VLC plays it with no issues (even VLC for Android TV). Same if I play it on a computer.
So I suspect Kodi may have some issues reading the "content header" or something like that.
Is there any way to solve the issue? Maybe a desktop utility that may analyze and correct the mkv/mpg "container" header or something like that?

Broken - Smithsonian Addon
I think there has been changes to the Smithonian Channel site itself and their content is no longer freely available.
The addon therefore no longer functions and display the swirly loop indefinitely, In Windows 10 only a crash exit is the way out.

Last FM plays import script
Not sure if anyone cares about this... but I thought I might as well post this just in case.
I've been on a mission for a while to make my Kodi music DB more cloud based with the track and album ratings script I previously posted. The next task was to write something that imported my Last.fm play data into Kodi.
I've been using Last.fm for over 10 years now and have a personal history of about 15,000 plays. I wanted to get this synced up with my music DB after I wiped it accidentally during testing.
These instructions are not for normal users, but someone with better Pyton skills than me (its my first attempt) can probably make an Add-on that works more integrated.
Step 1 - export your last.fm music history
I used this site to create a csv of all my plays https://benjaminbenben.com/lastfm-to-csv/
Step 2 - Edit the CSV
We need to add headers to the CSV file, I just added a new text line at the top with

I then used db browser for sqlite to import the csv into a database.
Save the DB created as lastfm.db and copy it into a folder called "c:\script\databases"
Step 4 - grab your kodi db

UHD Movies don't play from movies, but play from Videos.
Hi Guys
I copied first UHD movie to HD. The Martian. First I copied BD version and then UHD.
I have two folders; The Martian (2015) and The Martian [4K Ultra HD Blu-ray]
I can play BD version from Movie tab on main screen (Movies > Titles > The Martian) and Kodi plays movie, but when I try The Martian [4K Ultra HD Blu-ray], nothing happens.
However when I go to Videos > Files > UHD Movies > The Martian [4K Ultra HD Blu-ray] BDMV > STREAM > 00011.m2ts and press OK, movie starts and play without a problem. Equipment is working, so where is a problem? Missing some files or links or info?

season art in File View mode / season folder names
Is per-season art supposed to show up in File View mode? I use File mode almost exclusively, and I'm finding that with a show's folder highlighted, I get the full-screen background art and the smaller, rectangular "DVD box cover" art to the right of the file list. (Sorry for the imprecise terms - I assume the background is poster art, not sure about the smaller rectangle. fwiw, this is Confluence, Kodi v15.2.)
However, once I dive into the show's folder, to the level where the season folders are, all art disappears & I get the default blue background. If I then dive into a season folder, I get the show's background back + a small rectangular preview of whichever episode is highlighted.
Is this the expected behavior? It would be nice if the show background remained throughout - and extra nice if the season folders showed season-specific poster art, the way they do in the Library View.
I've considered trying to export my library metadata to disk, to see if this fixes the problem. Before I do this, though: does season folder naming matter, for the purpose of exporting season art from the library? (Mine are "season_01", not "Season 1".)

playing videos from my cloud on workgroup
I have installed kodi on my xbox one hoping to get larger support for video and audio codex since the xbox one native video player is starting to not support some audio recently, i have a WD My Cloud on my local area network (workgroup) and i was wondering if kodi can access my cloud hard drive on my workgroup and play stuff from there (vidos, audio, pix etc...) how to get that done ?...
and you know xbox one got an HDMI IN and OUT to connect a cable box and watch the stream through the XBOX, by any chance kudi can record this stream ? or even if i sign up for a legit IPTV service, can kodi record anything ??...

No free adapter after suspend
hey guys,
my tvh does not find any free adapters after watching a movie from my local drive after 30 minutes or so.
I tried to use unload dvb modules in tvh settings but I haven't had success so far.

v18 - popcornmix/newclock5 errors playing x265 file most of the time but works a few times
I built popcornmix/newclock5 on Arch ARM (RPi3B+). About 80% of the time I try to play an HEVC clip, playback is very choppy (audio and video) and the kodi.log is filled with lines like:

Remote commands problem with Openelec and Amazon fire
I seem to have a problem with both amazon fire tv sticks, and openelec, configured with an IR remote. I'll press commands, and nothing will happen, then suddenly the last command sent in will start getting stuck, like if I press left, it will suddenly act as if i'm holding down the left button. At first I thought that this was something that had to do with the IR, but the version for Amazon Fire sticks seems to be doing exactly the same thing. Has anyone else seen this behavior?

v17 - MSGQ_ABORT or MSGO_IS_ERROR on SONY ANDROID TV when press "ACTION MENU" on RC
Hello!
When I press "ACTION MENU" button on my SONY RC during playback I get "ERROR: Got MSGQ_ABORT or MSGO_IS_ERROR return true" and playback stops returning to Kodi UX.
"ACTION MENU" button bring up the TV's "Display & Sound" menu overlay in order user to calibrate TV's screen or audio quality settings.
Since this button stops KODI's playback, it's impossible to calibrate TV screen settings. This is very annoying, especially on HDR mode.

Raspberry pi 3 freezes on live TV only
I am new here running a raspberry pi 3 I use an addons that uses Iptv simple for live TV. I can watch about 5 minutes before I have to get up and physical reset the pi. I can not figure out what is causing it to freeze up. I can post logs if needed.
