Hello,
I've been using XBMC for years and was eagerly awaiting the update to Frodo as it includes Android support as well, however I haven't updated yet.
My setup is fairly complex (at least in my opinion):
Currently, all of my computers use thumbnails stored on the Synology through advancedsettings.xml.
My questions are:
Basically what is the easiest and best way to upgrade all my XBMC installations without breaking anything?
Thanks!
(Also please let me know if I should post this somewhere else)
I've been using XBMC for years and was eagerly awaiting the update to Frodo as it includes Android support as well, however I haven't updated yet.
My setup is fairly complex (at least in my opinion):
- XBMC Live installed on ASRock Ion 330HT connected to TV in living room
- XBMC on 2 Windows Computers (office computer and wife's laptop)
- XBMC on OS X (my laptop)
- All videos/music on Synology NAS, as well as MySQL library (hardwired to ASRock, shared to others via wifi)
Currently, all of my computers use thumbnails stored on the Synology through advancedsettings.xml.
My questions are:
- Can I continue using the Thumbnails on the NAS with advancedsettings.xml?
- Can I/should I move some/all of the installations to using Thumbails on their own drives (added with Frodo I believe)?
- If I move the thumbails to each individual installation, can I install XBMC on my android tablet (HP Touchpad running Jelly Bean via Cyanogen 10) and have only that installation use thumbnails stored on the NAS?
Basically what is the easiest and best way to upgrade all my XBMC installations without breaking anything?
Thanks!
