Help on a Group 5 Build for a HTPC beginner

I'm looking to do a Group 5ish build.. frankly my head is swimming with the options for several days of reading about it... so thought I'd jump in a put a build together without really knowing what I'm doing and ask
1. have I messed up and spec'ed incompatible components (I'm a software guy really),
2. have I way over-spec'ed anything for a HTPC - could I save money without losing major functionality?

Mostly going to be streaming 720/1080 files from a NAS. No 3D. No HD audio. Will be some in-browser viewing like iplayer, youtube etc. Want to set it up as a PVR in future also.

Really I was sold on getting a NUC celeron but read they were expensive for what you get if you didn't need the small-form factor... so would like to spec something bigger and better, or bigger and cheaper.
