UPNP/DLNA .tmp file extension

I want to use my Raspberry Pi as a media server for my Android/Windows/Linux and avoid using smb,
I've noticed every file i get through DLNA has a .tmp file extension and just wondered if there is a way to keep the original file extension as this would help a lot with phones and Windows.
Can anybody help?
