Weird my last build never gave me issues it was the same rc2 but decided to uninstall and install again fresh through google play store, and whenever I install from zip kodi just stays frozen I have to hit the home button on the remote and then enter kodi again I look in install from repos and whatever I installed from zip is in there, I just don't understand why it freezes up now with this build and not the last one which was the same build

Video files in micro sd
Hi I am new to raspberry pi.
Yesterday I installed osmc, since I wanted to try kodi.
Everything went fine, but I coudn't find a way to put my movies on the micro sd.
I use Windows on my pc and I see that my 32gb micro sd has 2 partition. The first one is 250 mb and osmc installed in it. The other partition is 29gb but windows cannot open it (I think it is a Linux file system)
How can I put my video and music files on the micro sd?

running different versions on same device
Is it possible for me to run version 14 and version 15 on the same device? I was able to run Kodi and XBMC on the same device. I would like to try out Kodi 15 but keep the functionality of 14 for those add ons that don't work with 15.

Missing "fields" in JSON-RPC
Hi
i'm missing SetTVShowDetails:Status field in JSON-RPC.
Also i'm missing DateAdded for SetMovieDetails and SetEpisodeDetails (this will also be ignored while NFO import).
Are you planning to add any of this fields?

Airmouse resume from suspend
Hi,
Im asking help for my litle problem waikeup from suspend by airmouse. Normal wired usb keyboard and mouse work fine wake up the machine. Airmouse from ebay this.

5.1 on Sharp TV
Hi, I have a new Sharp lc70ue30 that is powered by Android TV. I installed the Kodi app and have been trying to get 5.1 out to my stereo via HDMI ARC, but all I ever get is stereo. The built in media player does 5.1 as does Netflix, but Kodi does not.
I've played around a lot in the expert settings but haven't had any luck. The closest I got to getting any setting changes to do something was when I enabled passthrough and had it as a Dolby DTS player checked and got a bunch of static.
What settings should I verify and/or is this just a darn device issue?

J*** image resource addons questions
I have a skin that is on my own repo and I had a few questions regarding the new image resource addons...
What is the best way to use icons not in the provided packs ie alternate names or non existent images?
For my situation should I add the studio images from my flags folder to my repo as an addon and set it as required in the skin addon.xml or just keep doing it the old way and manually make my xbt file?
Will a skin on the Kodi repo automatically add the images to a Textures.xbt file or will these images remain outside of that file with duplicates?
I like the idea of only needing to update the skin xmls minus the images so I am wondering if that is indeed how it works?

Cheap Hardware with Headphone/Audio out?
I've been eyeing those cheap Android boxes running Amlogic hardware (MXQ and similar variants seems great bang for buck in particular), but I'm not able to get a straight answer out of the hardware specs... I see they all have an AV out jack which can be separated into 3 RCA jacks with the standard plug (included with most models). That's cool and all, but I'm looking for a headphone jack or at the very least a jack that can be split out to a standard set of analog speakers while viewing full HD out of the HDMI.
I'm unclear if the hardware I'm seeing can handle that, and I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. If using HDMI out to power my display, is the AV out still active, or at least the L+R portion of the AV jack? I see some listings call the AV jack a "headphone jack", but it doesn't seem to really be that.
If not, are there any reliable/popular boxes that DO offer an analog out like that? I've been searching and reading reviews until my head spins!

3D Stereo Mode row_interleaved
In the docs I see mentions of a 3d stereo mode named "row_interleaved" everywhere. It sounds exactly what i'm looking for because I have a passive 3D tv's. So when the 3D movie will be interlaced I don't even have to turn the 3D feature of my tv on.
However, the interleaved mode can't be selected in Kodi. The page List_of_built-in_functions (wiki) mentions row_interleaved as a valid argument for SetStereoMode. I've tried setting this as a keybinding for a key on my keyboard, but this doesn't do anything. All other modes like anaglyph_cyan_red, split_horizontal etc. work however.
So does Kodi support interleaved for 3D (like youtube does for example) for 3D content? And if so, how to enable it? And if it doesn't, why is it in the wiki? Was it removed?

Problem Mapping Remote Key to Context Menu

Pivos Xios XS: TofuLinux + PleXBMC
Hi,
I am asking this question here since Pivos forum does not allow to ask about unsuported plugins (not sure if plexbmc falls in that category though).
I am currently using a Pivos Xios XS with the Android firmware. I have installed Kodi, so I am not using the default Tofu Kodi Player. I also installed PleXBMC, which work great, but crash sometime.
New firmware for the Xios XS is now under Linux.
I would like to upgrade, but I am afraid that PleXBMC will no longer work with the default Tofu Kodi Linux Player.
Does anyone currently use the Xios XS with the Linux firmware and can confirm that PleXBMC works without any issues?

Passthrough Notification
Request: Add pass through status and volume related key codes to Application.OnVolumeChanged notifications.
I (like a few others from searched threads) wish to control my AVR volume using notifications from Kodi, and unfortunately my AVR is not HDMI capable. I use SPDIF to feed my AVR and my automation system monitors notifications from Kodi, adjusting the receivers volume based on Application.OnVolumeChanged messages.
This works successfully provided Passthrough is disabled, all be it with lack of surround channels and remixing of audio. If passthrough is enabled, the OnVolumeChanged notifications are no longer sent and I enjoy blasted eardrums at 100% volume with no control over volume level.
Looking at the code, it seems passthrough sets "pesudo volume" to 100% and all volume change requests are ignored and hence no notifications sent.
It would be great if notifications could be modified to include something like "{data: { muted: false, volume: 100.0, passthrough: true, key: ACTION_VOLUME_UP }", and then be sent regardless of passthrough being enabled.
I expect this would create minimal impact on existing clients/codebases that use this notification and also permit full control of the AVR from within Kodi without the need for additional remote controls.
To be clear I do not want to modify the way in which audio volume levels are handled/passed through, only the notification messages.

transferring bookmarks
Hello - I've decided to try out OpenELEC and boot from a USB drive. Part of the reason is its support for 3d seems to be better, from what I've read.
I had been using XBMC for a bit now and have a number of bookmarks saved for my movies (not episode bookmarks - the other ones). In order to transfer over the settings, I exported my library from the XBMC system and then imported that to the OpenELEC system. That moved a lot of information, including remembering the last played part of each movie, but it didn't do anything with the bookmarks. No bookmarks were transferred over.
Is there a way that I can do this? I've seen others ask this but usually it is to share bookmarks among multiple systems running concurrently, and they setup a MYSQL database. Is there an easier way?

hi yall. the wife is a compulsive volume switcher, which leaves me with 3 choices
if anyone else wants, just put this in ~/.kodi/addons/skin.titan/1080i/
and the request: if im not alone in wanting this, show your support... maybe this becomes an option rather than a hack

- take the remote away from her and listen to the complaining ... its too loud... i cant hear... its to loud
- let her play with it and not watch ... the centre of the screen is always blocked
- put the volume thing-eee in the corner and let her play with it all she wants

Network Analyser for Kodi
Hi all, I currently have a Raspberry Pi with Kodi in my bedroom, which used to be in the living room, closer to the router. The files are stored in a smb share. Kodi gets to my wlan thanks to an eth cable reaching out to a huawei repeater. However, even so, I cannot stream with the same speed as before, and some big files always hang. I would like to understand the root cause by analysing the network and determine what the root cause is. Do I need to have a router with more powerful antennas? Do I need a router with a higher bandwidth? Or is the eth adapter that needs to have a greater bandwidth?
What Linux tools do you recommend to analyse the network, and how would you proceed? Thanks!

Internal memory full
Hello... Help needed please.
I have a M8Sbox running Kodi 15.0.
I've been running zero cache as a advanced setting in order to stop buffering.
However now all internal memory is full and kodi will not load in.. What can I do ?
I've tried deleting cache from settings menu , which I've done! How do u delete all internal cache?
