Hello,

I recently upgraded my Kodi version to install Matrix 19.0 on a Windows 10 NUC.

And unfortunately, on almost every video I playback, Kodi freezes and then crashes.
Do you have any clue on why, or any similar feedback to mine?

Feel free to ask me any details, and I'll try to do my best.

I have followed the guide on the Wiki and elsewhere. but unable to install 18.9

The default repo has 18.8 which does not work well for me .


Added the kodi-old repository

This is what i get from terminal:

If I have understood, the Dolby Vision build apk of Kodi installes as a separate from the playstore Kodi, and as there are some dropped frames/judder going on in Matrix on my Shield Pro 2019, I was thinking, can you have both Leia and Matrix installed at the same time?

I have troubleshooted a problem whereby using Kodi 19.0, TV recording resume points and watched statues are loaded on first use but then are all lost as you are using Kodi. I am not currently using an advancedsettings.xml file.

1. Load Kodi 19.0 on Windows PC (using Mosaic DVBLink client)
   
2. PVR guide and recordings are loaded as normal, includes resume points and watched statuses.
   
3. Go to the Recordings view to check.
   
4. Within a few minutes ALL those resume points and watched statuses are lost in the Recording view. You can leave the Recordings screen on and see that happen.
   
5. If you reload the guide data or restart Kodi, the resume points and watched statues return.
   

To prove this is potentially a Kodi 19.0 issue, I have repeated the same steps on another PC using Kodi 18.9 and things work as normal, none of the resume points and watched statuses are lost.

Anyone else seeing this behaviour?

Hello everyone! I build a home theater and will use a small computer on Intel spent a lot of time choosing a receiver  they wrote that Denon is a good choice and I read that it and Marantz are made by the same company, but when looking for information about it I read somewhere that they conflict with Intel chips, but in my opinion it was 2-3 years ago, how are things now? I will be taking Denon AVR-X3700H

I can't figure out how to access the Current Playlist when playing music. There's a button on the player controls OSD "Now Playing - Music" but all that does is close the player controls. I've tried the N key (Current playlist window keyboard shortcut) but that does nothing. I've also tried to hit TAB (get out of full screen?) -- but that also does nothing. I thought I might be missing something obvious, but have dug and dug and can't figure out how to access Current Playlist, so I'm beginning to think something is broken on my install. Appreciate any help.

RPi4B | Libreelec 9.2.6. | Kodi 18.9.0

Hi all,

I'm trying to find a way to open a url and send across meta such as title, plot, rating, poster etc. for my OSD in kodi.

The documentation isn't clear and the only param that seems to work in an item object is "file".

I tried to include "title" but then got an error:

Anyone know how to include additional properties for the item such as title, rating, poster etc. ?

Hello, maybe someone can help me here.

Setup:
First of all I have a NUC7i5BNK connected to an AVR and to a TV.
I am running Windows 10 Pro 20H2 and Video/Audio Drivers are the latest (24.xx)
The Sound ist set correctly in Windows.
The Files are on a smb Share and the Database is mysql56.
The issue also appears on my NUC7i3BNK connected to another TV and another AVR (1080p here).


I upgraded from Kodi 17.6 (which was running fine) to 19 rc1 and later 19 stable. Both exhibit the same issue.

Issue:
When starting a video, the screen switches resolution. After that the loading begins. Stops for some seconds and returns to load (you can see the Kodi loading animation).
If I set the pause after refreshrate switch, the first loading takes longer but the problem still persists. Tried 20s but no luck.
After that there is no audio. And also never again audio in Kodi.
Also Kodi never exits and has to be killed.

• Happens with WASAPI and DirectSound.
  
• reinstalling audio drivers does not help
  
• it sometimes occurs on the first file, sometimes later
  
• as far as I see only occurs when Refreshrate switching is on
  
• occurs also when Kodi is set to 1080p instead of 2160p
  
• occurs with all video files
  
• tried on a fresh install only with the advancedsettings for db access and without addons. Still occured
  

It seems the "waiting time" is the time betwenn these two events:

Hi everyone,

I am running konstakang's lineage os 17.1 Android tv 10 on a raspberry pi 4.

After some tinkering I got this to run pretty well with one of the beta matrix versions (I can't remember which one...)

Unfortunately I had the auto update enabled and v19 keeps crashing randomly (random timing that is).
The errors are consistently about EGL_something. Sometimes it's 3 seconds after starting Kodi, sometimes halfway through a show.

Reverting to 18.9 doesn't help and now the beta versions seem to have the same issue.

I know I can run Kodi in different ways on a rpi4, but I need the Android platform for a streaming app that only runs in Android.

A fresh install of Android (on another SD card I had lying around) gave the same results.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have yet to download a full logfile, so hopefully this short excerpt is enough.

When I first go to Kodi , I get the regular screen and I scroll down to My Addons and after I click on it ( The Crew is the addon ) it goes to Video addon , so how do I switch back to My addons  . I think this is why when I choose a Genre it will go to that Genre , I hope this explains my problem

Hello,

Is it possible with an android box to have a very good quality 4k upscal a bit like what there is on Shield 2019 without necessarily being as good?
By software?
By OS (CoreElec, LibreELEC etc ...)?
Or with a cable?

What is the upscal worth via a cable like Marseille mCable? Are there inexpensive cables?

Hi

Kodi 19 as a qpkg on a NAS, TS-253 8Gb PRO.

Under System >Settings>Interface>Configure Skin>Addon Shortcuts (5th option)  I can add up to 5 shortcuts for movie's, music etc.

I have reached the maximum of 5 shortcuts.
Is it possible to change a setting that allows me to up to 7 or 8 shortcuts?

I am a long long time user of KODI...
I never read forums or ask for help...
However I am really ticked off by the automatic updates from the Kodi 19 "Matrix" release!!!
I find it is breaks, doesn't take add-ons or my skins...
I use Leia 18.9 with custom skin, add-ons and configuration.. It runs great!!!!!!!!
 
Kodi 19 "Matrix" has blown me up over 7 times now by updating my android without permission!!
I have 18.9 flagged not to update!!!

It has cost me hours and days of work rebuilding my units only to have to do it over and over..
In addition I have lost all downloaded and organized data for movies and tv shows....

Issues that cost time, every time, are getting rid of URLresolver and Indigo!!

Please add option to all new versions of KODI to only update on command of user!!!!
It will update while box is powered on or just watching youtube videos!!!

I am still investigating alternatives to KODI now!! Kodi 19 "Matrix" is worse than a VIRUS!!

Yep... I am really ticked!!! BUT I do thank you for all your past and present work..
I wanted to stay on 17.6 Krypton but didn't have much choice.. So give us one...

I'm trying to have two separate movie folders. One with Cartoons and one with regular movies. At the same time I would like the sync between kodi, and have looked at a few different options, Jellyfin being the last.
But while I can have my movie folder and a separate folder with the cartoons (with a bit less functionality), using emby, jellyfin or similar, then all movies and cartoons will be added to same folder.
Is there a work around to this?

Hi All sorry these are probably going to be noob questions but I couldn't get a clear answer from what I have read so far.

So I want to set up a simple media solution for my elderly mother. I have go an Android TV so I am good for streaming apps, Live TV etc. What if need is a way for her to see all her photos, play mp3s (sorted in albums etc) and play movies/videos (mainly .mkv's).

Can I put all the media on an external HDD and connect it to the TV then use KODI on the Android TV to access and display all the media with just the Android TV App ? If so is there a good thread to start me on that will let me what add-ons i need etc ?

I still use EMBY so i need a server on a PC thats on etc. so i just want to make sure this will work before i invest a lot of time setting it up etc.

Hi! I can't figure out how, thanks for help.
Kodi is running on PC (connected to a big TV), my Windows 10 for some reasons refuses to let me cast to it and have a screenmirror, so I wanted to use Kodi. I've enabled all relative controls but I can't figure how how to cast now from phone.
Ipm on same wifi, I see Kodi opened port 9090, 8080 36666 and 36667, phone can't find the receiver (Kodi, like for example can find Chromecast), I've tried some app but seems doing something else, I tried also Yatse but don't cast anything (just work as remote), I've installed as suggested BubbleUPnP but it doesn't find Kodi.

What to do here? I haven't guessed was that complicated..

I want to update my Music library every 15 minutes and put in

But Kodi keeps saying that this is incorrect.

After the upgrade to Kodi 19, all my sources "This directory contains" gets reset to "None" after a while. I configured them a few times, rescanned the database, it works OK but they eventually go back to None and when I start Kodi it has an empty database.

The media is on a NFS server (Ubuntu 20.04) if that matters.

This used to work fine in Kodi 18.

I also noticed that Kodi 19 can no longer discover/browse NFS shares, but they work if I enter nfs://<ip>/path/to/media The discover/browse part is not a big deal but I wonder if it's related to why the source type gets reset to None.
Kodi 18 was able to discover and browse them. Happening on both a CCGTV and AFTV4K.
