KODI crash using iPlayerWWW addon

This post is a follow on from one in the iPlayerWWW forum. 

I am a newcomer to KODI. It is running on Windows 7, 64bit using KODI 18.5 64 bit and iPlayerWWW 3.0.46. 

KODI is running OK except I am having a problem with the IPlayerWWW add-on that throws a windows exception code 0xc0000409 terminating KODI.

The symptoms are that the add-on initialises fine and after menu navigation I select a program that seems to initialise and then the whole KODI application crashes.

After discussion and investigation in the add-on forum it was suggested that I post here.

I have a debug log available at egijepimij (paste) as is the exception detail.

I also have a Window Process Monitor available if helpful.

PVR Channel Manager - EPG Source?

@ksooo In the pvr channel manager of Kodi each channel has a setting "EPG Source" that is unchangeable and sticked to "Client".
What is it good for? Or better, what are the prerequirements to choose something other than client?

Although it is already available in the KyraDB API, it is still rather uncertain whether @rmrector  will implemented in the near future so that it can be used in bulk/batch without manual paste copy.
Lot's of feedback that members liked it but also too much work the manual copy paste procedure for each movie.
Now i made a prototype of an easy to use addon if the codes are in the skin.
In contrast to the original project, where the posters are part of the movie as artwork type, here they are part of the movie and at the same time part of an actor in it.
It similar like the .actors folder aka actor icons but cause this is hardcoded in kodi core it's bypassed via Resource Addon.

The experimental addon has some nice features includes wich need to be tested and also the code is functional on other Kodi versions and builts (i am still on 17.6)
It would be a big fail if i port all the content fitting to Recource Content and then a have to change afterwards the concept. So i provide now for testing a basice Set about 50+ newer AAA movies.

Features
  • As in Video on top, mainly for DialogVideoInfo: Showing Character Posters matching to a specific movie to a specific actor on focus.
  • Could alternative also used as Multiimage Sideshow everywhere.

2 PVR addons at once?

Is it possible to run 2 PVR addons at once?  I use the PVR addon for HD Homerun DVR subscribers  and I want to supplement that with a few custom movie channels I have made.  I am thinking I can import my custom channels via the IPTV plugin but I want to know that this will add these new channels from the existing ones I already get from the silicondust HDHR addon if that makes sense.  Thanks.

Why is the xbox one version of Kodi so clunky?

I have tried Kodi on raspberry pi and Windows and it seems to work fast and flawlessly, really making the most of the hardware available to the program. But with the xbox one Kodi it runs terrible. Its slow to boot up, has terrible playback generally with green screens and fast forward playback issues.

Honestly my Pi3 runs Kodi far far better than my xbox one.

Does anyone know why that is the case?

Lost my database because i have change the source

Hello

I lost all the data from my video library, which it took me two years to make. The data is still in Kodi, but I don't know how to change the source.

Actually, I switched servers.

Old source : smb://FREEBOX_SERVER
New source: smb://FREEBOX

Does anyone know if it's possible to modify the database so that I don't have to redo my entire database?

Android - No Ororo video add on

Hey, guys

I've tried several times to install Ororo, on my Android TV box. But when I get to the final step suggesting I go to Video add-ons and select "Ororo," -- it's not there. The only options to select are Adult Swim and Cartoon Network.
The instructions for this install have all been the same, and everything works up until this step. Fusion has been installed (using .co suffix, as .ag suffix is now a bad link), fusion has been selected from zip file, then kodi-repos, jsergio, add on notice came up, etc. But Ororo TV is not showing as an option at the end.
Please help, and thanks in advance!

Kodi and Nvidia Shield Pro Question

I love this thing but I have a small problem. I cannot figure out how to activate options that, for example, display a lower screen enabling one to select subtitles or to toggle shuffle on and off. Kore works very well these days but if some kind person knows how to do it from the hardware remote, please let me know.

By the way (as long as I am at it) I cannot overstate how terrific the Nvidia product is. This is the newest release (October 28, 2019). The Amazon Fire is little league. The Nvidia Shield Pro is the NY Yankees. There is just no reasonable comparison.

Is it all right to delete old thumbnail files?

This may not be the right group for this, but I don't see one for it, so forgive me.

I have been running XBMC since the early 00's.  I am now running Kodi 17.6 on Mariadb in UnRaid.  I understand that the thumbnails are now stored on the local drives of the media players but I still have many files that are stored along with the media files.  For instance: in the DVD folders, there are fanart.jpg and poster.jpg and in the VIDEO_TS folder there are VIDEO_TS-fanart.jpg and folders extrafanart , .actors and extrathumbs.  I think these were put there when I ripped the DVD's years ago.

Since the current thumbnails are now stored elsewhere, is it all right to simply delete these files? Or do I have to remove the movies from the database and re-import them?

NextPVR PVR plugin v3.3.18

Is anyone else having problems with the NextPVR PVR plugin v3.3.18?

I had no issues with v3.3.15 but as soon as I got automatically upgraded to v3.3.17 and then v3.3.18 I started having buffering issues.

I tried uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling and rebooting but that hasn't fixed things.

The problem is that it seems to ignore the settings when playing live TV, at least regarding buffering time. It then starts playing live TV before it should, plays for a few seconds and then buffers for about 8 seconds. This is what it normally does but there have been many variations, like playing for minutes and then buffering, playing for a second and buffering again. It is the same for both the Timeshift and Extended Timeshift options.

I have looked through the Kodi and NextPVR forums and can't find anyone else having the same problem.

I'm in the UK with DVB-T2, Kodi 18.5 and NextPVR 4.2.5. No other Kodi or NextPVR addons apart from one to configure buttons on the remote in Kodi. The PC is a very clean Windows 10 build, nothing but Kodi and NextPVr.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Using two accounts on single webdav server fails

When I setup two webdav sources using different accounts on the same server, the first one I access works, but the second one fails with HTTP error 405.  Reboot and I can again choose which to have work.

Oh, oh, my wife seems to have broken my Kodi

I've been a happy Kodi user and it has been working great except for the brief hiccup last November when the TVDB had a rocky upgrade. Last night set up a tv show for my wife to watch when I went out and apparently there was a problem with subtitles and after somewhat randomly pounding buttons she gave up.
 
Since then, Kodi has completely lost the ability to scrape any tv show whatsoever. Movies work perfectly fine. No screen errors, all searches return null results. The issue is add-on independent, in all cases everything looks normal except the suffix: WATCHED is displayed at the top of the search screen header.
 
Had a look at my log, lots of “NEWADDON Unknown Video Info Key” errors. Full log here:

I have 2 Kodi installations - one with dsplayer (17.6), and a portable install (18.5). The logfile is for the portable (18.5) but both installations are slow to start.

I've been having problems with screen tearing for the last few months, and no matter what I do I can't seem to fix it. I've tried updating drivers, messing with v-sync and refresh rate settings, and nothings worked. This problem only came up after I reinstalled windows on my computer. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Help with Smart playlists, Separate remote and local TV shows

I'm wondering if the following is possible using smart playlists.

Background: I recently started testing Kodi on an android tablet and it seems to work fine. I have a http server running and connect to that as a remote source. Now, I can't always be sure if the internet connection is stable enough to use that, so I might copy the same content to a local SD card.

I would want a TV-show playlist that shows only the local copy of the episode in the episode view. Right now, it shows both, the local and remote copies in the episode view. Filtering with path sorts the shows but does not affect the episode view. Using "episodes" as the playlist type works of course, but it gets a little messy with multiple shows and a many episodes.

Is this at all possible?

there are some new cool features available in kodi-pvr-iptvsimple 4.8.4. However I see that latest version available for kodi 18 is 3.8.8. Will those features we available for kodi 18 at all? Or current version is the final one in terms of features? Thanks.

Loading spinner during profile log-in and log-off

When I log-off from current profile or log-in/switch to different profile the whole kodi feezes and is unresponsive until it finishes.
I suggest to display loading spinner, so that I know that my command has been acknowledged and is working upon.
Currently there is no feedback when I select desired action (log-in/log-off/switch profile) so I am trying again (assuming my input from remote wasn't registered because of weak signal or low battery) and finally I realise that kodi is complelely frozen for several seconds.
