v18 - NFO file for tv shows doesn't work

Hi,

Suddenly struck with strange issue: I like to keep NFO link files for every show and movie I have to avoid confusions and today I realized that NFO files for TV shows just don't work. I know it was API update for tvdb but according to documentation link files should work and I just put there a new link.

Here's my example and related log entries:

Share root:
13 Demon Street -> under the root I have file tvshow.nfo and folder Season 01 -> two episodes under.
tvshow.nfo consists of only one liner: https://www.thetvdb.com/series/13-demon-street

When I try to scrap it I have a prompt to pick a show but log file saying:

Same works perfectly fine for movie files, with bogus file and just IMDB link in the NFO it is going to a proper place:

00:22:23.058 T:20620   DEBUG: VideoInfoScanner: Found matching URL NFO file: smb://xxx.xxx.local/Library_8/Movies/9-Multicast.nfo

Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

v18 - Where to start in order to make a simple video addon

Hi! I'm starting on this amazing Kodi Addon world, and would like to build my first video addon. What I would like achieve is pretty simple: I want to be able to send a url (from a news website from my country) through the Yatse remote app and play the stream contained in it (just like what happens when you do the same with a YouTube link). I already made some sort of parser which receives as input the url and then outputs the stream url, of course using python. I read many pages from the wiki, but couldn't find anything to get started properly (besides from the "hello world" and the basic video addon, both of which don't seem to do anything close to what I need).

Any help would be really appreciated, thanks in advance Smile

Visualisation when listen to music

Hello,

First of all, many thanks for this great skin.

My question : I found the option to automatically show visualisation after starting a song, which is great. However, it looks like it is more like a command to toggle the visualisation mode. Therefore, if I change of song with the Yatse remote, it will leave the visualisation mode.
Is there a way to be always in visualisation mode when playing music ?

cant pause slideshow (SlideShow.xml)

Can you guies "pause" the slideshow (Diashow)?

there's also other stuff which seems to behave a bit strange. -> According to the Wikki (Skinning manual) there is a control id="13" which shuld show up if the slideshow is paused

everything within this controll shows up if i open a Screenshot from "DialogAddonInfo" -> not a big issue, as i can easely workaround it by set a visible condition "!Window.IsActive(AddonInfo)" to this control, but as i did try to test the control during a picture slideshow i recogised that i cant "pause" the slideshow. ?

is there may a special command to pause the Slideshow or shuld the pause button on my remote do the job and its broken?

Bug - "Visualisation.Locked" doesnt return "true" if visualisation is Locked.

Not shure if this is in the scope for Leia (guess thats a long standing one), but if a visualisation preset is locked (via Button id="501" in MusicOSD)  "Visualisation.Locked" doesnt return "true".

testet with Milkdrop 1 & 2 on Windows.

i knew visualisations got there problems, guess this is also the reason why them are disabled by default, (so i may should touch this topic with safety gloves on) but may it isnt that hard to Fix the mentioned boolean, and if, it would be cool to have this functionality back for Leia. (if not, its also no problem to wait thil someone finds the time to look at it, means not THAT important (at least to me) would just be a "nice to have"..)

Just thought its may worth mentioning, as i recently strubled over it during doing some changes to the MusicOSD.xml

Need help with addons

Hello,

I have a firestick and I'm running kodi 17.6.
For some reason all my add-ons are taking forever to load. I cleaned the cache then reinstalled kodi then when that didn't work I reformatted my whole Firestick. Netflix works fine from my home screen however just the add-ons in kodi dont. Any help is appreciated.

I'm wondering which version of MariaDB can i use ?
because with mysql it's recommended to use version 5.5.42

v18 - Leia Nightly/Beta missing VFS-SFTP (SSH)

Hi Everyone,
I switched to Leia because I couldn't get a good frame rate in V17 due to HEVC and HW acceleration problems at 4k.

Now the problem is I can't access any of my files using SFTP because the functionality seams to be removed from the core.
I've read some threads ( for example this W10 one https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=334194) stating SFTP will be working thru an add-on. 

The issue I am having is I can't find how to access that add-on; I can't see the "Virtual filesystems" folder in addons like is shown in this screenshot (https://i.imgur.com/IldPIY3.png) taken from that previous thread I mentioned.
I've tried BETA and Nightly and no luck.

Maybe I am missing something. I'll appreciate your support. THANKS!

My data is:
Operating System: Ubuntu 18.04.1 - Linux 4.15.0-34-generic (up to date)
BUILD: Kodi 18.0-BETA3 GIt:20180930-1b4f69c (installed from scratch, nothing added to it)
Hardware: INTEL 630 (Kaby Lake GT2) running Mesa 18.0.5
Architecture: x86_64

Play/Pause problem

Hi,

When I press PAUSE and after a while PLAY the music:
1. stops
2. track goes about 1 second back (rewind) and
3. music plays again
so.. 1 maybe 2 seconds of every track is being repeated
 
(I use my BT speaker but I also checked AUX connection and its the same)

Is this a bag?
or any player feature which maybe switched off?


I'm using LibreELEC 8.2.5 on RPI3 and Kodi 17.6.

Vader Streams - Error - Check Log

I have been unable to get my Vader Streams Kodi Addon working. Each time I open the addon it gives me three sub folders (Files, Playlists, Video Addon-ons). When I try to update it, I get a check log error. The addon's text is also red.

Apple TV problems with the context menu

I have problems with Kodi installed on Apple TV 4. Whenever I try to enter the context menu of an item it just closes the app (e.g. when you're on a media source and you want to delete or edit it and you long press menu on the remote). I've tried with those builds: kodi-20170928-318dd2f--tvos.deb, kodi-20180227-4a25e62-yab-tvos.deb it's the same. Is it a known problem? What can be done to fix it - it is unsuable like that. Thanks

Can't update library when connected to mysql

Hello,

I'm running Kodi 17.6 on Ubuntu 16.04 (but planning on running on various Android devices as well)
I have my media repository on a rpi2 running the latest raspbian. The mysql server is also running on this same device. Before adding the advancedsettings.xml, I'm able to scan the repositories remotely over smb share and add them to my library. After adding the advancedsettings.xml, I can still view the files in the files section but I am unable to scan them to the library.

It appears that I'm connecting to the mysql server no problem (took me a while to figure out what I was doing wrong to allow connections) and it's even created my databases. however, when I go to update the library, it's simply not scanning. Looks like it scans for a very short time and then stops like it didn't find anything in the sources that I already have set up.

Android - Leia beta 2 and nightly fails to install being detected as threat by Play Protect

Hi all
Can anyone confirm that Leia beta 2 and nightly fails to install if Play Protect scanning is active?
On my galaxy s8+ after a reboot the first time attempting to install the apk Play Protect report it as threat then installation fails. From the second time on, installation just "fails"

Incursion zip file missing

I just downloaded Kodi to my Firestick and began the process of installing Incursion.

I added the URL as directed... then went to the package installer to accesss the zip file, clicked on the file name, then it should have given me the option to choose repository... but that option was not available.

What am I doing wrong?

Thetvdb : Show year issue

Hi everyone,

Currently, there's a known bug in thetvdb : the tv show first air date can't be set automatically with the first episode (see thread : https://forums.thetvdb.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=51248)

As a result, Kodi uses 1969 as the tv show year.

May I suggest to add some more checks in the scrapper, like "if no date is set for the tv show, find the first episode date and use it as the tvshow date" ? Like thetvdb should, but internally ?

That's of course just an idea, and I can understand it can be too much work for a problem with the data provider, but...

In Kodi 18 with the Titan Beta Skin you see this when you play a PVR recording...

I am specifically talking about the poster art on the Left hand side.  In Kodi 17.6 with the Titan Skin you see a black box with a play button in it instead.  Is there any way to make it show the poster art in 17.6 like you see in 18?

Colors for BluRay picture based subtitles

This may be obvious, but is there a way to DVD/BluRay/UHD picture based subtitles rendered in the color that is specified in the stream? 

Some disks are mastered with multi-colored subtitles. E.g.: one color for music lyrics, another for dialogue, another for incidentals like translating signs, etc.  AnimEigo is big on this.  Using the same MKV file, this works fine with software players like MPV on the mac, but on my kodi machine everything is black-and-white.  I am running Kodi 17.6 on Vero 4k running OSMC release 2018.08-2.
