Duplicate tv show...

I am running Kodi 17.6.

My database is MySQL on a shared network drive.

I scan in my TV folder from Machine 1.  I get about halfway done and I stop it.

I copy my entire %appdata%/kodi folder from Machine 1 to Machine 2 and I start scanning the folder again.  Figuring it would start where the first scan stopped.

What ends up happening is that everythign is duplicated... there are two posters in TV shows for each tv show.

I look in the database and the file paths are identical: smb://MYSHARE/TV/etc...

So on Machine 2, I set the content to None and let the library clean.

Now I have an empty database.

It's OK if I can only use one machine to scan, but I'd like to understand why if I scan from two different machines, I get duplicates.  Because it's identical, it doesn't make any sense.

Commercial Skipping too early

I'm so nearly at the stage where EDL is working for me. I have recordings from mythtv with commercials flagged correctly. The issue is that during playback it skips commercials too early and restarts too late.

Having read some docs I now have this in my advancedsettings.xml

This has half-cured the problem. The commbreakautowind settings is working. The problem is that commbreakautowait makes no difference, no matter what I set it to - the commercial skip always happens at the same point - i,e about a minute too early.

Upgrading Chromebox RAM from 4gb to 8gb - AdvancedSettings.xml

Hi folks,

Not sure where's the best place to ask but I'm going to upgrade my Asus Chromebox Celeron 1.4GHz 4GB Ram up to 8GB Ram.
My question is can I and should I allocate more RAM to cachemembuffer in Advancedsettings.xml?

My current value is: <cachemembuffersize>104857600</cachemembuffersize>

Bug - TheTVDB scraper not picking up a few specific episodes

Scraping has been working fine for me, except for the latest 2 episodes of Silicon Valley (s05e07 and s05e08), and the latest episode of Modern Family (s09e21). Lots of other TV episodes, that have been released this week, are scraping fine.

I haven't changed my file structure or file naming at all. I've tried renaming the offending episodes, it doesn't help.

If I delete all episodes of Silicon Valley from Kodi, and rescan, all the episodes will scrape apart from the latest 2.

These episodes seem to exist on TheTVDB.com, can't see a problem there.

Android - Exodus help

Hi, I'm trying to download exodus and I'm using http/kdil.co/repo and it isn't working. It's telling me "Couldn't retrieve directory information", am I doing something wrong or is there a step in between that I need to do to download? I'm using a firestick.

ServerWMC updates failing - PVR Pervice Error

ServerWMC stopped working today after years of reliable service.

On the Update Tab  ---  Error: The request was aborted.  Could not create SSL/TLS Secure Channel. - HTTPS://serverwmc.github.io/updates/AutoUpdates.xml

On the Folders Tab --- Unclicked "Use Credentials on smb://paths (Kodi Clients) and I am now able to watch TV but still get the error on updates.

Please advise.

Nothing under my Music-->Files menu

Not sure when this happened, I'm on v17.6. Previously there was a 'Files' submenu under Music where you could browse the actual directories. This was handy because sometimes the scrapers don't add your content for some reason and that way you can navigate directly to it to play it. Now when I choose that sub-menu it is empty, the only choice is to 'Add Music' 

I have a NAS for my library so its shared across all machines on the network, always worked fine before. I tried different Skins just in case but no difference, any idea what might be going on?

Coreelec S912-8.90.2 Window Translator: Can't find window osdaudiodspsettings

Hi all,

I am using CoreELEC s912-8.90.2 on Beeling GT1 Ultimate S912 device. Sometimes Kodi crashes and restart itself. When I look at the crashlog, the error lines are given below

ERROR: CSettingGroup: unable to read setting type of "videoscreen.limitedrange"
ERROR: DBus error: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown - The name org.freedesktop.UPower was not provided by any .service files
ERROR: GetString: error reading /storage/.kodi/userdata/disp_cap
ERROR: Window Translator: Can't find window osdaudiodspsettings
ERROR: Previous line repeats 4 times.
ERROR: Window Translator: Can't find window osdaudiodspsettings

After osdaudiodspsettings error crashlog ended.

Do you have any idea?

Musicbrainz ID Tagging Issue

So I ripped a CD to a Flac file. The Flac file is embedded with a MusicBrainz ID. Then I did an Artist and Album query in Kodi. When I check the Kodi music database file only the “strMusicBrainzArtistID” tag has a value. Both the “strMusicBrainzAlbumID” tag and the “strMusicBrainzTrackID” tag are “NULL.” I was expecting all three tags to be populated. Is that correct? Any ideas? Thanks, PK

Audio-video sync; harware accel- or Kodi version?

Hi all,

Andriod -  LE v.8.2.5

The issue I am trying to fix:
I have a very common problem of the audio being VERY out of sync with the video that
I am trying to view, and no amount of adjustment to the Kodi syncing control helps.

I read that Kodi no longer supports  'AMcodec' which my box still has available under
"Settings - Player - Video - Processing - hardware acceleration"
Based on this I am assuming that I need to update to a newer version of Kodi?
Or perhaps alter the hardware accel?

Any advice would be appreciated.

v18 - After today's nightly It's not switching to Full Screen #2

I downloaded KodiSetup-20180513-9815b133-master-x64.exe and after 1st opening I tried to switch Full Screen #2 and it's stayed on Full Screen #1 (I mean it's only showing on my first monitor).

No error writing on screen or any other thing happened... It's just not switched on my both computers with two monitors. So easy to reproduce.

Windows 10 (Second monitor on HDMI) First Monitor on 1920x1080 / Second TV 1920x1080
Windows 7 Ultimate (Second monitor on DVI) First Monitor 1920x1080 / Second Monitor 1440x900

(Note: Windowed is working)

split seasons show single location

i use ember to scrape and manage my collection. i think i figured out why ember is having issues when i have a tv series split season in different hard drives. basically for x series, i fill up hdd1. when i get the newest season and hdd1 is full, i put it on hdd2. this is where ember fails to sync. while i can scan for new content in kodi, i cant manage sync in ember. it logs that it isnt found on the database. after looking at mysql, i noticed that in the VIEWS.season_view, it lists the series with all seasons hdd1 where the last season added is in hdd2. how do i edit this?

Customized Menus

I currently use aeon nox skin, as I have customized menus buttons to playlist I have created. I just recently found out there are Kodi builds that can be installed.

Does anyone know which of these allow the customized menus buttons?  This will save me the time of going through everyone to see which does or does not.

Kore/Yatse won't connect on 2nd use

Hello,

Have been googling everything I could think of to find the solution to this problem and I haven't found anybody who has asked it.

This same problem has come up for me with Yatse and now it's happening with Kore.

First I installed Yatse and I connected to it without problem.  I have a TV wall with 4 Kodi individual Kodi devices connected to each individual TV.  Upon setup, there was no problem.  I was able to use my remote to control all 4 Kodi devices.

When I came back the next day to control the devices again, my phone could recognize, but couldn't connect to any of the Kodi devices.  I thought maybe it's a problem with Yatse so I then went to attempt to intall Kore.  With Kore I ran into the exact same problem.  After the initial setup, everything worked fine.  I came back the next day, and again, Kore could recognize the devices, but it could not connect to any of them.  

Anybody have any idea why this would be happening or how to fix it?  I thought maybe I needed to set up port forwarding, but on my Google Wifi, the port forwarding feature wouldn't allow me to create the exception unless I listed both an internal and an external port.  I assume the internal port is my Kodi device, 8080, but what's the port on my android?  Not even sure if this is the direction I need to go, just not sure what to do from here.

Proper way to flatten season for date based shows.

Is there a way to flatten date based tv shows? I've tried using season fole such as "Season 01". I've tried using "2017" as the season folder even tried without.

basically right now it looks like this:

Show Name
    |-------------- Season 01
                           |-------------- Name 2017-02-07
                                                    |----- Files
                           |-------------- Name 2107-02-10
                                                    |------ Files

The show appears with Season -1. When i have faltten "If only one season". Nothing happens i still see season -1. If I change it to Always then it flattens.
But I don't want it to always flatten. What is the proper way to handle Date based tv shows? I basically want all date based shows to be flattened.
I don't want to pick a season for date based shows.

the following should be considered a NECESSARY install for kodi 17x on any Ubuntu 16.04 or 16.04 based system such as Linux Mint. In my opinion this post should be made into a sticky or pinned.

This will save you numerous headaches , problems and may even solve a mystery or two.

Symptoms may include: 
Slow operation
High CPU Usage
Crashing GUI when loading favourites (confluence)
Hard disk fiilling up from Log files
Unable to install, upgrade or remove addons
solw or failing connections ehen downloading or connecting to servers.
strange addon behaviour

v18 - SSL Certificates Issues

Hi there,

Since early April there seemed to be a change in regards to ssl certificates which has prevented my self signed certificates from working when using the emby addon and when connecting to my local music library over a FTPS server as a traditional source through kodi. I paid for a certificate which allowed the Emby addon to start working, however I don't use it for my music since iv'e never successfully managed to get it to scan in my music library without crashing, so I use a Filezilla server I run locally for my music, so that I can use Kodi on the go outside of my local network.

I cannot however get even the legit certificate from a CA to work with Kodi, none of the media will play on the FTPS source and I cannot even add/browse the source in the file manager. I noticed in the log this entry which I was able to resolve with the emby content, however not the FTPS source:

17:44:24.596 T:6040   ERROR: CCurlFile::FillBuffer - Failed: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with given CA certificates(60)

I have had to resort to using an old nightly where this still works, I'm assuming there has been some security changes with the certificates in the last month, I noticed something in relation to addon repo's but hadn't found anyone complaining about this specifically.

The build I am currently using that still supports my use case is 18.0-Alpha2 Git:20180330-d1aaa5ecce, I cannot recall the exact build where this stopped working though.

Any help on getting around this issue would be appreciated, ive attached a link to my log file.

I have problem with import

Hello, i have problem with import in my addon... I want use spotipy library but when i run the addon in the log file, i see error in the import...
I prove to import in 3 difference ways : import spotipy ; import lib.spotipy as spotipy ; from lib.spotipy import spotipy.
My lib folder it's in the main folder addon.
