My setup is a Windows 10 PC with Kodi 17.6 running.

My Audio is all through my realtek soundcard (3.5mm jacks direct from sound card), and this works perfectly for 5.1 video, with the sound set in Kodi to 5.1.

However I've found that for some stereo videos, I can barely hear people speak with the setting on 5.1. I read elsewhere to change it to 2.0 and this does fix the issue - however this leaves 5.1 not working (as I can't select pass through to my sound card, only to my hdmi, so I'm only getting 2 channel sound).

I've tried stereo up mix and that didn't work either.
Surely there is a way for Kodi to play 2.0 audio with 2.0 as the setting and 5.1 with 5.1?

I'm really confused why changing the speakers setting to 5.1 - which the sound card actually has, leads to direct being barely audible.

Hi all,

It's been a great run, but with one (soon to be two) infants in the house there just isn't as much time for skinning as there used to be.  Any time I have now will be spent on my other skin, Omni. If there's someone that wants to take over development of Mimic, just let me know. I'll be around, but may not always be the best one to respond to requests as it's not a skin that I use anymore.

I've been searching all night long how to add a second MOVIE menu, for the kids to get their own stuff in there.

I've found some empty slots in the parameters /skin parameters but I can't find how to affect them a function.

Can someone give me a little help?

What puzzles me is the following. I am experiencing the very same issues like this user here -> PI 2 extremely poor performance video playback He just restarted his NAS and voila, it was all working. 

Some background:
- I have a Zyxel NAS NSA325v2. Samba version was 3.5.6. I upgraded it to 3.6.25
- I have a Linksys WRT1900ACS. It was running Chaos 15.05 and I upgraded it to LEDE Reboot 17.01.4 r3560-79f57e422d Did not make any difference  

What is mostly strange it that I can play smoothly all videos via uPnP. I tried OpenELEC, LibreELEC, and all Kodi 17 based versions cannot play big video files (30-40gb) via SAMBA. But with latest LibreELEC 9.x it all works fine! All my devices are hard wired, the NAS is 1gb, the routher is 1gb, the Rpi3 is 100mb.

I am really out of any ideas. I tried the custom 8.2.3 build with 64k smb chunk size but still no good luck via Samba. Any ideas guys?

I am not even sure anymore if that`s related to samba chunk size, rather something changed from Kodi 17 to 18... no clue though what.

Hello,

I have an ODriod running LibreElec 8.2.3. The volume on my Panasonic TV remote seems to change the volume in Kodi too. This is cause the volume to change on both Kodi and the TV, which isn't good. I added this file Userdata/keymaps/remote.xml

I have a Sony w/ Android TV, and Kodi Krypton installed.  It plays audio out via a Denon Receiver and the ARC.

For some reason, I can only get 2.0 audio out via the ARC to my Denon Receiver in Kodi (and YouTube) while Netflix sends surround..

I've been in and out of the Android settings, as well as Kodi's.  I also tried calling Sony support (useless, always, don't buy) and got to Tier 2, before eventually they guy gave up and said it was a problem with the non-Sony receiver (BS).  The Android has an Auto1, Auto2, and PCM setting for digital out, though I don't know if that only applies to ToSlink optical, or HDMI ARC as well.  I've tried them all.  In Kodi there are several different audio settings.  I suppose it's possible that I just haven't found the right combination.  The gist I get from various docs I've found is that passthrough is recommended, but it seems the Android audio subsystem may be passing 2.0.

While Netflix does correctly output Surround Sound, I don't think the problem is in Kodi, per se, because I have the same problem in the YouTube app.  It seems to be a problem on a per-app basis, with Netflix working and Kodi and YouTube not, so far.

Does anyone else have Kodi playing out of the ARC?

I have no idea what could be causing this.  Any help is much appreciated.

Hi all,

Anyone else have a bug when this feature is enabled, the OSD won't respond to any commands at all?

The option gets rid of the buttons, but I can't click up to access the reduced ones that remain, or click right or left to seek

I'm using LibreElec 8.2.2 and a Harmony remote.

Hi there...

I have my video sources set up linking ot folders and all that jazz.. but I have a few custom main menu items for Kids Stuff, Anime, Documentaries etc etc. The problem is that the default Movies and TV Shows also show stuff I only want shown in the other menus.

How can I exclude sources from the default Movies or TV Shows menus?

See any source I add and set t movies or TV Show, automatically show up in those sections.

I have some mixed tv episodes for some series which are hevc x265 & x264 mkv in same season folder (ex: S02E01, 02, 03, 04 are hevc x265 mkv's and S02E05, 06,&07 are x264). What just started happening is that one or the other is recognized by kodi, but not the other, this was not an issue prior to this week. 
I have rebuilt the library twice and they all work, but on the next update this starts again. tyhese are unwatched episodes and this does not matter whether or not they are scrapped using kodi (tvdb) or Metabrowser. I will also mention that these are all scrapped to .nfo's and not .xml's in case may make a difference. I do not like using tvdb because of how many metadata errors there are (wrong series, episode, etc.).

is there anything i might try, or do i have to keep the exact same format in each folder?

Hello,
i would like to report an issue when i search in pvr guide. Don't know if it is pvr addon or kodi related issue.
While start date show correct current date, the end date is usually wrong. Today the 27.01. I have epg data until 09.02. In pvr settings i select show 14 days. But the kodi pre selected end date show 06.02.18.
And as second issue the start date and end date should be empty or have 24 hours period. Now i see start time 09.22 am and end time 10.22 am. Only search within one hour is needless. So everytime i have to delete both start and end times and the end date.
At least i would like to ask for a request that the search direct begin after press enter tab. Actually a new window open with keyboard controls.

coming from a mediaportal setup.

Have installed nextpvr service on a dedicated server rig.
Another PC is running a kodi client.

all good.

when the client comes out of standby, it tries to tune the last viewed channel, but does not succeed.
All I get is a black screen.
I guess there is a period of time when coming out of standby before a LAN connection has been established. DHCP hanshake etc.
it looks like the addon does take this into account.

Android 7.1.1 Czech, Core 3.18.31
Kodi v17.6 - Krypton (from Google Play)

What I tested

• clear app cache
  
• clear app memory
  
• install/uninstall app
  
• with/without microSD (after each mount authorize microSD)
  
• restart device (and after each inserting/reinstalling)
  

Suggest something please :-(
We got about 5 devices at our family, all of them works with Kodi even the Adnroid box for TV and we are used to Kodi connected to Synology.

Hello i have problem playing recordings of live tv it stutters and buffers and get video and audio out of sink but i have find that if i use app on my phone TVHClient and Yatse remote that i can send recordings to my mecool pro l box in http form and its play fine so can i force tvheadend client on kodi to somehow use http insted of htsp so that i dont need to use my phone

Hi guys,

While updating my skin for one last hurrah before moving development from Kyrpton to Leia I have run into an issue with trying to show an actors library media. In order to provide a actors info screen I am using skin.helper script to replace the standard id 50 cast list with an alternative list provided by skin.helper. This is working well, but where clicking on an actor in list id 50 brings up a selection dialog with all of the actors movies, tvshows and episodes, using the skin.helper script does not provide any way to display this list of media.

The only way I can see to achieve my aim is to use some like this

videodb://movies/actors/$INFO[listitem.label]/

As a content tag, but I would need to repeat the above for TvShows and episodes (well the TvShow part would work). Kyrpton does not allow multiple content tags, so is there a way to achieve what I am trying to replace, or am I stuck with just providing a list of movies or a list of TvShows?

Hi to all!

Wanna ask somenthing that I believe it's possible:

Let's say that I have a image inside textures.xbt called "image.png", and I have a item in kodi with a tag in .nfo called <tag>test image</tag>. This item is not an movie/serie/music.
In the skin, when I give focus on this item, it show a text tag "test image" provide from my .nfo using the code <label>$INFO[ListItem.Property(tag)]</label>
But I wanna to link this tag to this image.png, to show a image in place of text. 

It's possible? If yes, can someone give me directions?
