Hello everybody.
I wrote a program to send text from Android to the search box in one touch.

Use the on-screen keyboard on the TV in the search box very uncomfortable.
The applications for remote control of media center Kodi is very cumbersome and does not allow you to quickly start typing and sending text.

My application text-sender provides type on your mobile device and remote send it directly to the search box of the media center.

Capabilities:
- Voice command to send text to the media center Kodi. You can select any voice command through which typed text will be sent to the media center.
- You can configure the program for voice dialing and sending a text with one touch. Starting voice typing immediately at startup
- Possible to send the text to several media centers. This setting is useful if you have multiple media centers Kodi and you do not want to choose each time which of them send text.

Since the app is paid, I will not post a link to it. Very expensive - 23 cents
Otherwise, it will consider advertising.
Publish screenshots. I present the idea. Who knows - write for yourself.

Hi all,

I think there is a couple of problems with cmake and ffmpeg (and possibly with other modules), and I'm planning to provide a PR for it, however, I'd like to discuss some fundamental things and how kodi is designed to work with these dependencies, before creating it.

Let me start with this file: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/master...eLists.txt

There a couple of assumptions regarding platform and cpu, however CPU is only passed on if this is a kodi depends build [1] so all of those assumptions are mostly useless.
Also, compiler flags defined in platform's ArchSetup.cmake are not sent to ffmpeg (nor to other modules if I recall correctly) unless we are in a cross compile environment.

Android's ArchSetup.cmake, here, tries to setup a couple of switches for ffmpeg which are not used anywhere nor passed on to ffmpeg.

So I was wondering what would be the correct way to do this, and setting these switches and compiler flags correctly for other modules.

One way to make this is to have more information in CMakeLists.txt from ffmpeg about the platform, CPU, compiler flags, and so on, and decide there, per platform, which switches to enable or disable.
Another way would be to continue the work that was started with Android and define everything at the ArchSetup level and then add it to the ffmpeg cmake project.

Before working on a patch, I'd like to understand your views and how this is supposed to be handled, and with that in mind I can produce a better and more consistent patch.

Hi,

Is there a way to save/backup some of the Repositories that came with my new streaming box?

It arrived fully loaded with 100’s of Apps that I would never use. When Kodi 17 is released I would like a fresh start and only install the Apps that I would use, and would not install Fusion and then TvAddons, which seem to flood the storage.

I have found some of the repositories online to install the Apps I would use, but some only seem to install if you have Fusion and TvAddons installed.


Any info most appreciated

Browsing music in folder mode using official Kodi remote app. When I select play for the current track is it possible for it to automatically play the next track in the folder or queue all tracks in folder when I select play.

Current options Queue after content, Queue, Play only seem to play the current selected song, adds the selected song to the playlist. Ignoring all the other tracks in the current folder.

I know this can be done by adding music to the library but the music has to be correctly tagged with cover art in order to easily find it and sometimes its quicker to use file mode to find the album.

Can anybody tell me that which player is used KODI to play streams, movies etc

and I'm blocked at point 6.3 I can't select a pre defined muxe as there's nothing in the drop down list.

Can someone help ?

All Kodi Krypton versions I was using have excactly the same problem.
Video starts fine and sometimes after pasuing it for a couple of mintues or seeking video the frame rate drops and it doesn't go back to normal until I press stop and play video once more.
This also happens without doing anything.
I'm using an Amlogic S905X device with 2GB RAM.
Videos are played by local network (SMB).

I'm out od ideas. Tried to change everything in the settings. Nothing helps.
Kodi 16 don't have that problem.

I have a headless machine with filebot on it and im having issues with calling FB from my python script. I am wondering if TMM could replace FB in my script and achieve the result im looking for.

All i need it to do is rename movies to the format ...\Movie (year)\Movie (year).ext within the parent folder via command line

ie:
/media/sdu1/home/saitoh183/private/Transfer/manage/movies/dualmovies/Veronica.Mars.2014.MULTi.TRUEFRENCH.720p.BluRay.x264-FrIeNdS.mkv\Veronica.Mars.2014.MULTi.TRUEFRENCH.720p.BluRay.x264-FrIeNdS.mkv

I have successfully used XBMC and then KODI for several years and have never had a problem with my music ratings being recognised eg in Smart Playlist etc.

However since installing Version 17 on Windows my Smart Playlists cannot find any matching ratings. My physical files have not changed.They are tagged with ID3v2.3 and the ratings are recognised by Media Monkey and MusicBee.

A typical Smart Playlist is:

However nothing plays. If I try to play it in Party Mode it fails with "Party Mode aborted. No matching songs in library.

Irun Kodi 14.2 on another device which accesses the same mp3 files and all works fine.

Any ideas? I have tried re-scanning the library several times.

In my box, with MINIX Windows 10 x32, I updated KODI to the latest version: Kodi 17 RC3
But I did this update when I still had the Kodi Alpha 3 version and after seeing a note informing me that there was a newer version.
Everything worked fine for a while, that is, since the RC3 version was released.
The problem that arose:
In Playlist Loader (version 1.1.2) I have some live TV listings.
While the VOD works on all the lists that have this service, the live TV has stopped working, presenting this information: "error playlistloader, view the record".
In the meantime: in PVR IPTV Simple Client I have a list (because it does not accept any more). And this list, with live TV, works flawlessly, without any error or stoppage.
The problem is so much and only in Playlist Loader with the TV's live.
But the strange thing is that going to System »PVR and live TV» General - »there is no" activate "option that has always existed.
I carried out these experiments:
I reinstalled Kodi Jarvis 16.1
The "activate" option appeared. I activated and uploaded channels into PVR IPTV Simple Client.
But the channels in Playlist Loader do not work.
I reinstalled Kodi Nightly, without success. The enable option has stopped appearing again.
I reinstalled the Kodi Alpha3, without success. The enable option did not appear.
I have now installed the RC3 version again and without the option to activate and without the lists in Playlist Loader work.
But it works the PVR list in Simple IPTV Client.
What am I advised to do?

Hopefully someone can help me with this issue I have shield tv 2015 16GB using Kodi and spmc from google play store but when I choose enable passthrough only spmc allow to use the volumen amplification for low volumen content ,not regular Kodi but if enable passthrough is not enable I can use volumen amplification .

I just got the new shield tv 2017 16GB Installed regular kodi and spmc from google play store and also tried the kodi 17 I can't use volumen amplification when is enable passthrough in all 3 kodis only when is not enable passthrough but not enable passthrough choose is only 2.0 audio and enable passthrough working is 5.1 audio depends the content.
If someone having the same issue and know how fix it please let me know it maybe at settings don't know thank you..

In the last period, my kodi has began to crash after ~20-30 seconds after it starts.
I didn't found something special in the logs, can you tell me if it's skin issue?

It actually never crashed like that before.
Sometimes it does work without crashing, but it's very not stable on each time I'm starting Kodi.

* Skin version: 3.6.108 (But maybe it happened also on previous version, I don't remember on which version it started)

Hi guys,

I'm running OSMC Kodi 18 (alpha): https://discourse.osmc.tv/t/testing-kodi.../20631/115

I'm trying to load roms but it doesn't seem to work. I was able to setup the controller, define a remote path for my roms (thought, the path does only shows .zip).

When I run a rom, it won't load. This is the error I get:

I'm currently running the Kodi v17 "Krypton" RC3 version on Windows 10 x64 Pro.

Is there a way to autostart Kodi once the machine boots up, without using the Launcher4Kodi program? I've used Launcher4Kodi in the past but I've had nothing but problems with it. Would like to try a different way to autostart Kodi in Windows boot.

I'm running Isengard releases on a number of HTPCs and Pis and want to update to the latest Krypton betas. Is there anything I need to watch out for in regards to the MySQL database structure or the way video libraries or handled? Any gotchas I'm missing or can I just copy the advancedsettings files from the old installations to the new one?

I am not sure if I am missing a setting somewhere but I have a strange situation with TV Shows.

My Movies and TV Shows are in separate shares on my Home Server PC. I am using Ember on another workstation so have mapped network drives to the two relevant shares Movies and TV Shows. In the File & Sources settings section of Ember I have pointed Movies and TV Shows to the root folder for each media type.
Ember finds and scrapes existing and new movies added to the directory. However it can only find 12 of the 33 tv series in the TV Shows Share??
Each TV show is in its own folder and seasons are in separate sub folders as follows:-
TV Shows/
24/
Season 1/
24.s01e01
24.s01e02
24.s01e03
Season 2/

Ascension/
Season1/
Ascension S01E01
Ascension S01E02
Ascension S01E03
Season 2/

Band of Brothers/
Season 1/

Band.Of.Brothers.SE01E03

I appreciate that there are some capitalisation and format issues in the above but other shows have had similar issues and I have been able to amend them with Bulk Renamer. However unless Ember can see the files Bulk Renamer will not work.

In Options/General/Miscellaneous settings I have tried ticking Include Folder Name in Source Type Check but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

The only thing I can think of is that I previously scanned my library with Media Companion and prior to that My Movies, before finding and using Ember MM so some of the successfully discovered folders may already have had a .nfo file in them. However I would have thought Ember would have found the content by the folder naming convention.
Any guidance would be appreciated

I can see quite severe differences when I compare interlaced video on SPMC and Kodi/Leia. I am attaching a sample (MPEG-2 video @ 576i) with a ticker at the top left [Download]. I am playing it on my Sony TV running Android TV Lollipop 5.1.1 via AMC.

SPMC: ticker is properly deinterlaced throughout the sample but resolution seems low
Krypton/Leia: higher resolution, but ticker is not always deinterlaced properly (sometimes falls back to Weave in the area of the ticker)

Can people with Sony see the same? Since apps don't have any control over deinterlacing and stuff, how can there be a difference between apps decoding via MediaCodec?
