24p really bugs my eyes and I finally realized I can at least make it slightly less annoying by adjusting display to match refresh rate but it seems to require manually adjusting overscan in AMD Vision Engine; still not quite sure if I'm doing it right so that it will remember overscan for different refresh rates to be honest. Is it impossible to match refresh rate and still maintain 1:1 pixelmapping? Is it just that my display can't handle it well (Samsung EH5000) because it looks awful, very grainy blocky picture and no sharpness or detail; the manual overscan doesn't seem to have a gradation that exactly matches an unscaled view. Thanks for any advice and sorry for any noobish terminology or explanation errors. I just discovered XBMC and it continues to shock me that a free opensource media centre is so far ahead of any commercial options so thanks!
Bonus gratitude if anyone is willing to give a quick and dirty explanation on why the refresh rate change setting even changes resolution!
