When using the native Kodi Media Player on my htpc with larger 4K files I get sound but no image. This is with the hardware acceleration turned on. If I turn the hardware acceleration off, there is an image, but the video will only play with a tremendous amount of frame drops and stuttering. If I use MPC-BE or VLC, these files play fine, but I prefer the interface of the native Kodi media player. As a note, the htpc with this problem uses a Pentium Silver N6005. On my laptop, which uses an i7-10510, the native Kodi video player works fine with hardware acceleration. The problem of failing to produce an image is specific to the Pentium Silver device.
