Broadcom Crystal HD BCM70012 bad framerate

Hi all-

I just installed a BCM70012 into my Acer Aspire One AOA150. I've been trying to get XBMC to play 1080i videos taken from my camera and it doesn't work. It works with Arcsoft TotalMedia Theater, but not XBMC. That is, the frame rate is much lower and stuttery with XBMC.

I've been reading the forums and cannot find the solution. Maybe I misread one of them, but do I need to have a Broadcom app running in my systray? I also tried running TotalMedia Theater in the background to see if it would help (as posted in another thread) but it has no effect.
