iPad XBMC AirPlay to Apple TV (Mirroring)

Hi, I have been using a port of Sabnzbd (iSabnzbd) Directly on my iPad to download movies from usenet directly on to my iPad! It's great, but most movies are in MKV format!

Xbmc was my number one app to play them through my tv using an Apple component cable! However as some of you know there were some bugs and issues with the component cable where the picture didn't display correctly! At this point of re calibrating every time I wanted to watch a film I decided to buy either an HDMI adapter for my iPad, or an Apple Tv, in the end I went for the later, as it was my Bday lol :-)

Anyway before this turns in to an essay, my problem is that unlike with the component cable (When it worked that is) The picture wirelessly is very judery and spikes at times, I bought an Airport express to see if it was my crap router causing it but it wasn't :-( I think that mirroring uses a lot of resources?

Is there a way to use AirPlay without mirroring with xbmc, like the native apps do? I'm guessing the fact the Apple Tv only plays MP4 files is going to be one of the reasons it can't!? Just for a test I rented a film on iTunes via the iPad (1080p m4v) and it streamed flawlessly from the Videos App without mirroring and I could even minimize it and use the iPad while it was streaming the movie in the background to the Apple Tv, And the batery percentage only budged about 5% after an entire movie! I was like, omg...

Does anyone have any advice? I'm so close to avoiding having to buy an entire macbook just to remux mkvs to mp4 and stream them natively to my new Apple tv lag free Undecided

Thanks for reading my essay lol

Matt
