Hi
This is my first thread (on any forum ever) so if I do something stupid please don't rip off my head (immediately).
Usually either I work something out or find on internet solution but this one is eluding me for more than 6 months.
My problem is that when XBMC is minimized neither Windows or XBMC power saving features work (dim screen, screensaver, turn off screen, sleep (S3)).
XBMC has three modes that you can run it and situation with power saving features in this modes is:
1. True fullscreen (when in fullscreen everything works, when minimized nothing works)
2. Windowed (when window is over full screen everything works, when minimized nothing works)
3. Fullscreen window (everything works)
Unfortunately fullscreen window has another problem, on laptop I can't get it to really minimize (it goes to background instead of taskbar) and on my desktop I can minimize it with Windows "show desktop" command but every time I open anything it goes to fullscreen window.
I don't know why should XBMC (if idle) interfere with windows power saving in any mode fullscreen or minimized and this is bug in my opinion.
When in fullscreen XBMC interferes with windows power saving if you turn on XBMC power saving features and this is OK so you have choices.
"True Fullscreen" or "windowed" is OK for me as you can switch with one button of mouse or remote between them but "Fullscreen window" is something I rather wouldn't use.
I am using Frodo 12.2 but I had same situation with 12.1 and Eden.
My OS is Windows 7 64bit home
I don't think that hardware is important as on both laptop and desktop I have exactly the same problem (additionally on laptop "show desktop" isn't working).
Thanks!
