Sick Beard vs RSS torrents

I'm not sure this is the correct section, but since Sick Beard is considered a PVR, I posted in the PVR section. Mods, please move to the appropriate section if need be.

Small disclaimer: I'm not even sure if my initial topic is a legitimate question. I'm extremely new to the LiveTV and usenet thing (more on that in a minute) so I'm not even sure the two in question are on the same playing field. Now, with that being said...

I use torrents. I don't watch tv. Before installing xbmc a few days, I would just download a show via torrent and watch it on my computer using VLC. Yeah, totally early 2000's here. Don't fix what ain't broke, right? Anyway, after installing xbmc, I realized I've been living in the stone age and I have much catching up to do. After reading through the xbmc Frodo guide, I saw they mentioned Sick Beard, which brought up a whole other line of google searches and tutorial skimming. So, I guess my question is this: Is Sick Beard a better setup for recording and maintain correct file structure for new shows than following a torrent RSS feed for the same action?

Hopefully that question made sense and, if not, please tell me why I'm completely off base. As I attempted to stress at the very beginning, I am extremely new to xbmc, usenet, liveTV, and really, the whole TV watching experience in its entirety. And help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
