Windows 8 - Add Network Source

Hi, I've been running Windows 8 on the computer I play my movies and Windows 7 on the source computer, where my videos are stored.

I recently upgraded to Windows 8 on the source computer but cannot add the network location. It just times out.

Which protocol should I be using? SMB? NFS? I've tried both but neither connect. Do I need to change any default security settings in Windows 8?

Any help would appreciated.
