Buffering Issues

I'll start off by saying that I am using openelec 3.0.6. I am posting this in the general section because openelec is not listed as an OS and Im unsure if I should post in the Linux section or not.
I am also going to post this in the openelec forums.

I am having random buffering issues. I have searched the forums looking for solutions and haven't one that has worked. The random buffering doesn't last very long but some files will buffer upward of 10 times or more during the playback. The files also do not buffer in the same spot during playback. All of my files are typical, mp4, mkv, avi. Mostly mkv though. Some 1080p and some 720P. My files are located on a HDD in my Win7 pc. My openelec box is a Revo 3600. Both machines are wired via GB ethernet. I have copied a 4gb file from the Win7 machine to the openelec box with an average transfer rate of 75 MB/s. From what I understand that transfer rate is plenty high enough for all of my sized files.

My openelec box is connected via HDMI to an onkyo receiver.

As I said the buffering is truly random. There is no pattern that I can tell. This has been happening ever since I started using the receiver so one would assume that the issue would be DTS, AAC, Dolby Digital related. I do not have any files containing DTS-HD or True-HD audio.

I have added this to the advancedsettings.xml with no luck. As I said, I dont think its a network issue. (just letting everyone know what I have tried)

Code:
<advancedsettings>
    <network>
        <cachemembuffersize>52428800</cachemembuffersize>
    </network>
</advancedsettings>
