Looking for a new MCE IR receiver.

Hey all,

I currently am using a HP MCE IR receiver like the one pictured below:



While it works great its IR reception is very poor, I pretty much have to point my remote (Harmony 700) directly at it for it to register a key press, while with my TV and AVR I can point the remote almost in any direction and they will register key presses.

So can anyone recommend me a MCE IR receiver that has IR reception that is comparable to TV's, AVR's etc?

EDIT: if anyone has any info on modifying my current IR receiver to boost its reception i'd love to hear it.
