Is it Possible to use File Shortcuts for Video Library

I am new to XBMC, so I have been experimenting with different settings and options. So I ran into an issue with by file library. Something, it appears a lot of people have run into. I have TV shows that have Specials that need to go into a special folder in order to be seen by the scrapper. I was wondering if there is a way to use shortcuts to the actual video files in a folder called Specials. This way the video file can remain in the folder of the season it actually aired in, instead of a separate folder. This is so, in the event that naming conventions change, xbmc goes out of support, end of the world... the files are still organized for the average person and not a scrapper.
