Frodo Just Died - Gandalf I need you

A very strange thing has happened with my XBMC installation.

This morning I started my Acer Aspire REVO running Frodo (12.0) without any issue. Played a couple of videos and then shut it down due to some work I needed to get done on my TV wall. The REVO talks with my TV via HDMI and as I said it worked perfectly fine this morning. The wall work was unplugging my TV and moving it away so that I could fix up the wall as I had previously cut in some cables.

I hooked everything back up and started my REVO again and was greeted with a login prompt. Tried to restart a few times, tried running startx and I am just getting the error "server error. No screens found".

Had a look at the log file and it seems to find the NVidia drivers but then ends with the "Server error. No screen found". I also tried to follow an article by replacing the display config file with the default nvidia one but still to no avail. I tried reinstalling the drivers but alas they have uninstalled and so now I can no longer verify that error.

I thought bugger it I will try and do a reinstall, but on boot of the USB and selecting to install XBMCBuntu (using either Frodo 12.0 or 12.2 and using bootable disk tools like UNetbootin and the Linux Live Usb Creator, I end up with a stuck install. This is what I am seeing on my screen while it is trying to install:

The installer at this point just stops and sits like this with no further keyboard input accepted. I have left it like this for the last 30 minutes with nothing appearing to happen (I will continue to leave it and see what happens - i.e. if there is a timeout or something).

I also attempted to try using the option for "Try XBMC without installing" but that too fails. I am at a loss.

Any one have any clues as to what the heck is going on? Is there anyway to reformat the hard disk from the device with XBMCbuntu installed? The only way I can think about doing this is to open the Revo, plug it into Windows and format the disk and then install the disk to the Revo and try again. I would love to know a way to do it from within the install.

Highly unexpected complete failure. Please help.
