Frozen screen but I can hear navigation sounds

Here's the problem:

Whenever I exit an emulator launched with Advanced Launcher the xbmc screen doesn't have focus or something. I can still hear navigation sounds when using keyboard but the screen is static. Same problem happens when the screen turns off cause of powersaving and I bring it back.

I cannot even begin to deduce what seems to be the issue but the same thing isn't happening if I do the same thing from the openbox shell

update: when i press ESC the screen goes black but the debugging info is still displayed altho it is also frozen
