Help with multichannel music

I have numerous albums in 5.1 multichannel formats; some DVD-Audio and some DVD-Video. When imported into XBMC, DVD-Audio ones which have been ripped to multichannel flac end up in the Music Library, and the DVD-Video ones which have been ripped as mkvs end up in the Music Video Library whereas I would like all albums together so that I don't have to remember which format each album is in.

I have tried demuxing the AC3/DTS audio tracks from the mkvs, and XBMC plays them, but because they don't have ID3 tags they can't be added to the Music Library and have to be selected in File mode.

I could convert the ac3/dts files to flac so that I can add ID3 tags but this would result in an unnecessary increase in file size.

I could try to to create videos and add the lossless DVD-Audio audio tracks so that everything is treated as a Music Video but this is likely to take some time.

Has anybody come up with their own solution to this problem? Is there a way to add ID3 tags into AC3 or DTS files, or is there a way to add them to a separate nfo file?
