I often experience a momentary (1s) loss of sound when playing back video files. While the sound is misbehaving, video can "stutter".
Around the time of these dropouts, I can see the following line in the log.
The log file is posted here http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=23493
I am running XBMC (12.2 Git:Unknown), Platform: Linux (Ubuntu 12.10, 3.5.0-31-generic i686) on Shuttle XS35GSV3
To fix some of my earlier errors I attempted to start over by reinstalling ATI drivers and an XVBA enabled version of XBMC etc basically following the guide (Step 2 through 4) per the recipe http://youresuchageek.blogspot.fr/2012/0...linux.html. I got XBMC from ppa:wsnipex/xbmc-xvba-frodo.
Before I attempted to install ATI drivers etc I did try and start with a clean slate by removing fglrx and XBMC although I'm not convinced now that I removed XBMC effectively. When I started XVBA enabled XBMC after installing from ppa:wsnipex/xbmc-xvba-frodo, I noted that my old UI setup was still in place but I did now have the opportunity to use XVBA instead of VDPAU. (in fact, looking at history, I see sudo apt-get purge xbmc followed by sudo apt-get autoremove).
Any ideas what might be the suspect here? (Maybe I answered my own question given my apparent dodgy removal of mainstream XBMC.)
