Custom Playlist Background

Not certain if this is a skin issue or not but I'll ask here anyways. I've created a smart playlist with a custom main menu option to have my 3D ISO movies sorted in both my main Movies menu list and a separate 3D Movies only menu. The problem I'm having is getting the 3D Movies menu option to use the backgrounds of the movies in the smart playlist. I've followed the steps in the smart playlist youtube video but it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?
