Wierd MCE / RC6 Remote issue

Okay, first post and it's a bit of a duesy...

I took my father-in-law's HTPC to install XBMC and a Hauppage MCE remote for his birthday...

I got the go-ahead to format and re-install the whole machine to make it clean and pretty

Now I have a fresh install of windows 7 x64 (Intel Board, 4gb RAM, Intel Pentium D cpu)

A fresh install of XBMC Eden

I plugged the remote receiver in, and it installed, Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver

I ran the automatic installer for the registry settings, I installed AutoHotkey and rebooted the machine

I fire up xbmc and tried the remote... nada... the light flashes on the receiver, but nothing...

I ran Showkey to see what's happening... nothing... the lights are flashing but nothing is coming through


I plugged the receiver into my pc and ran showkey.... works perfectly....

help...
