After several faithful years, my XBMCbuntu install has developed too many issues to fix easily and I've decided it's time to wipe the drive and re-install XBMC from scratch. I like the appliance feel of XBMCbuntu because if something goes wrong I know the family can just reboot and be back to TV in no time, but I'd like to be able to expand into some family gaming this go around, especially since Steam now has a Linux version, and I was wondering what distro or install packages are being recommended nowadays. I'm leaning towards just installing Ubuntu and then XBMC, but if there's a more suitable Linux distro or package out there, I'd appreciate hearing about it.
