Installing MS-Tech MC-1200 front buttons

After extensive searching on Google and this forum I'm now putting my hope into you. Last week I installed my HTPC consisting of a MS-Tech MC-1200 case and a Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H motherboard. I get everything installed, only one thing keeps bothering: I can't get the front case buttons to work. The power switch & reset button work, besides the power led and the activity led (although I hardly have activity).

In another post (which I unfortunately can't find anymore) someone pointed out that the power switch of the power button should be connected to the front button power switch cable and the combination goes to the front panel on the motherboard. In order to make stuff more clear I just made some photo's (apologies for the bad quality) which I will place at the bottom of this post.

Unfortunately, trying that option with connecting the both power switches and connect it to the motherboard doesn't seem to change anything but it breaks the normal power switch behavior so that makes me think it's not the right way of doing it. I can't see any other connection place to the motherboard.

It's not a real big deal if it's not working, but it would be a nice feature to have to complete the whole installation, close the case and put it nicely in it's place.

Thanks in advance for your help!
