odd idea for volume control

ok like I said this is going to sound odd I need away to get xbmc to output some type of data using json when the volume controls are triggered in xbmc the reason being is I control my volume using eventghost and my networked receiver. Currently i have the button on my physical remote configured to control the events in eventghost to control the receiver which is fine most of the time however there are times that I use my phone as a remote using xbmc remote and I have no way to control the volume and I am trying to remedy this problem.
