Hello everyone, and thanks for reading.
I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my movie library so I keep local posters and fanarts for all of my movies. I also export the .nfo file for each one, so I can edit anything that needs fixed then re-import it into the library -- for example, sometimes runtimes can be screwy if there are multiple versions of a movie, and for foreign films I like to put the English title in parentheses after the original title. Minor things, but I found that editing the .nfo file is the easiest way to accomplish this what I want to do.
However, while titles, runtimes, and MPAA ratings remain constant, information like IMDb ratings and number of votes will always be fluctuating. Those of you familiar with IMDb know that hyped up movies often start out at a pretty ridiculously high rating, before eventually dropping a bit and leveling out. Top 250 rankings are always moving around as well.
Is there a way for XBMC to scrape most of the data from the .nfo file, but scrape other data like those listed above from IMDb? My plan is to update the library every month or so, so that I have recent ratings from IMDb. I tried just removing the rating, top 250 rank, etc from the .nfo and rescraping, hoping IMDb would fill in the rest, but it just left them all blank.
Any ideas?
