Allow Add ons to disble player functions

I think there should be a hook to allow an add on to disable certain functions. I list an example below:

USTVNOW has live streams and works with xbmc via an add on. If however one is watching a stream and presses rew or FF or << or >> (arrows left or right) , XBMC hangs and the only way out is a reboot.

If however the add on creator could specify to disable functions when playing back via that particular add on, there would be no need to worry about those buttons being pressed while watching ustvnow.
