Shared Wired Connection Files?

Hello, I've been running XBMC for a little over a year on my old busted up Windows Laptop connected to my TV; I have to external harddrives plugged into the laptop and share to the other WiFi devices in my house. I'm playing around with the newest Raspmbc build off my Pi and connecting the Pi to the laptop with the harddvies via ethernet cable for it's internet connectivity; no issues thus far, was able to download and install Raspmbc and download a few addons but my one issue I'm having is trying to browse for the video files from my Raspberry Pi to the laptop (with the 2x external harddrives) with the shared internet connection. Is this possible? I've been trying to figure this out for a few days now and it's driving me nuts!
