Hope this is the correct place for this...
After installing Frodo 12.1. I set up XBMC to play media over a LAN connection. The playback was very choppy. I thought at first that it was due to the network.
After a bit of troubleshooting and I guess, some dumb luck, i worked out that this was because I didn't have an audio device plugged in to the PC. As soon as I plugged one in it stopped lagging and upon removing it again, the lag would return (Lag is only found in video playback and not in the running of xbmc).
Extra notes:
My Config consists of:
> an HTPC running Windows 8 x64.
> Frodo 12.1.
> Media sits on a different PC, the media is streamed across a Gigabit network from a very quick PC.
> Video is outputted via standard VGA.
> Audio is outputted via a standard 3.5mm audio jack to speakers.
