Team,
As XBMC exists now, the looping feature is faily difficult to find and utilize. I am pretty knowledgable with computers and it took looking up on the internet for me to figure out how the looping feature works. I would like to see this change where it is easier to setup a looping track for video/audio.
You may ask why I would like to see this improved?
I currently have to setup a playlist.m3u with 25 of the same file name and play the files. I set it up to loop but I'm mostly hooping it will loop and not just play through the play list once (lasts usually a day). I would like to see an easier feature where you set it to loop like in VLC.
Here's a description of how I use XBMC. I use XBMC at my work as a looping display video. The videos are a combination of instructional videos in ASL, with company advertisements and powerpoint slides for things like birthdays and new hires. I have setup the computer with XBMCubuntu so I all I have to do is access via filezilla and upload the latest changes in the videos. The file is the same name as the current file so it basically overwrites the current file even while it is playing. On the next loop, the "new" video will play showing all the new changes. I use Putty to update xbmc for this computer and reboot via putty when needed.
I have noticed when using XBMC when using it this way, at some point the computer crashes or locks up due to memory problems from constantly playing the file over and over.
I would also like to see an improvement in the AIR Play feature. Currently if you have a looping video and you use Air Play, it will interrupt or stop the video. This is fine while displaying but as soon as you are done with AirPlay it should go right back to the looping video. Kind of like a foreground /background thing. When Airplay comes on, Looping video goes in the background, then when its done, the looping video comes back to the foreground.
