Dear,
I'll just be to the point with this thread :
HTPC Specs:
3rd Generation Core i5 (exect model eludes me at this moment)
8gb ram
Intel HD 2500
Samsung 840pro 256GB
XBMC 12.1 using true fullscreen and WASAPI
Latest drivers except for the intel HD 2500 (latest driver gives corrupted images in xbmc), however hd audio driver is the latest
No codec installed atm (not even MPC-HC)
Samsung 60 inch LED connected with 1.4 HDMI tv (forgot the exact model number)
Issues:
1. When using default settings (dxva2, no adjust display refresh rate and other options) I get jerky playback (ministutter, jittering), especially with panning shots, which, once you notice it, is unbearable.
Work around: Put HDMI output in 24Hz or use adjust display refresh rate to match ... in xbmc (you will need to delay audio 250ms if you choose either option it seems)
Questions:
I've tried so many different setups that I can't tell anymore which one is best, hence these questions:
1. The workaround gives me a dilemma, because changing refresh rate to 24Hz all the time makes the HTPC unusable for anything else than watching media, however it seems to give me better jittering free output than using the XBMC option to adjust refresh rate (this could just be in my head). IS there a difference in output quality between these options?
2. What is the best option for my setup, using xbmc codecs, installing MPC-HC standalone or installing k-lite codec pack and use LAV for everything?
Thanks in advance for reading through this
Best regards!
