XBMCbuntu (XVBA version) 12.0 subtitles in one bluray rip are yellow and small

Hi, whilst watching a bluray rip of "My Neighbour Totoro" I have noticed that the subtitles.are coloured yellow and are smaller than they are in other movies. Downloading an external SRT file rectified this, but I'd rather use the ones embedded in the MKV file. Is there a way to rectify this? Could the subtitles be a different format? I thought that Blu-Ray subtitles were always SRT. I have "Override SSA/ASS formatting enabled".

Any suggestions?
